……………… I dusted myself down as I got back to my feet Movement behind me caught my attention I glanced round as one of the hooded figures was couched ready to pounce. I faced him as he lunged his blade out in his hand. On instinct I dropped to the floor catching his legs sending him sprawling at Iagan’s feet. Iagan had his arms tightly folded over his bare chest a slightly puzzled look on his face. I didn’t have chance to think about it I was grabbed from behind as another of the hooded figures got up and came at me forwards I used the male who held me as leverage and pushed back bringing up my feet and kicking the oncoming male Square in the chest he stumbled back hitting the stone wall.

“Okay ENOUGH” Iagan’s voice cut through the room, I was released

“Is this how it goes” I gasped “I’m attacked and I have to defend myself” I walked over to him “I have to go in blind’

“No but you will know how soon” Iagan shook his head

“What?” I threw out my arms

“You will be able to fend off an attack blindfolded”

“Why?”

“Leave us” Iagan ordered all of the hooded warriors got up and left the room the doors softly clicking closed

“Because the threats to your life are not from just men… People who won’t die will be after you including one of Stars protectors” I frowned at him he walked away from me “Do you know who are her protectors?”

“No”

“There is an old guard who watched over Star when she returned” he turned to face me a box in his hands “Wiley and deft even at over 300 years old” he smirked “and then there is her twin… her brother” the smirk vanished and a snarl was on his lips.

“Brae” I felt my eyes get wide

“He will protect her with his last immortal breath” Iagan nodded “He will take out anyone that thinks of hurting her… he moved closer to me “He will take off the head of a fellow immortal as I know you’ve seen in here” he tapped the side of my head “He was born to kill as we’re you” I looked at him “Or were you made to lay on your back for him” he stepped back

“I… I…don’t know” I stammered

“You dreamt of him last night didn’t’ you?”

“What if I did?” I snapped at his turned back the muscles rippling over his shoulders “What care is it of yours?”

“I am the one that has to look out for you and how can I do that is you’re his whore” Iagan yelled rounding on me I backed against the wall “I sensed how you felt in your dream Mo Bhean I sensed you wanted to feel him in you” I started to shake my head “You are as much of a whore as Mia only you do it for power” he dropped to his knee in front of me and pulled off the lid to the box and pulled out a sheathed knife with leather strapped “Spread your legs” he didn’t wait for me to respond as he did it for me I braced against the wall “This is your weapon forged the same time as mine” His voice changed going back to teaching mode not angry mode as he tied the first strap three quarters of the way down my thigh “This weapon will be with you always” his hand slid up my leg to the center tie and his fingers made my skin tingle as he brushed against me “It is the only way to kill an Immortal being” he looked up at me as his fingers rode higher to tie of the final strap so close to where the burn had returned from the night before and my dream, I closed my eyes and bit my lip in a response I had little control over. Iagan got to his feet the heat from his body radiating against mine “And one day you will have to do that” he murmured in my ear “Whether he’s placed his seed within you” his had stroked over the heat, I moaned “You will have to fight for your life” he backed away and picked up his shirt from the floor “Enough for today you need to change” he instructed “With your Father away you can go outside in the grounds for a while but I will now be your shadow everywhere you go”

“Including in the tub” I tried to sound flippant and failed

“If I have to get in there with you I will” he nodded “Shall we” he gestured to the door I just started to walk to it Iagan at my heel. Silence falling between us.

“Are you jealous about the dream Guardian?” I asked as we reached the foot of the stairs

“You ask far too many questions that don’t’ need to be answered” he said quickly as he started up the stairs.

“Are you scared of the answer?” he stopped and looked at me

“I’m scared of nothing” he shook his head “but you have more things to think about them what I want or need for” he cupped my arm and led me up the stairs. His jaw set tight his eyes focused in front of him, one day I might get a straight answer from someone about something or was that too much to ask for………….
