So Close yet again

………………… Brae’s eyes grew wide as my words sank in his entire body seemed to react and become harder as his mouth found mine easily, his tongue slipping into my mouth and seeming to embrace my own as he pulled me into his body. His mouth moved along my jaw to my neck I closed my eyes as my body responded to his touch. I felt the car stop and a stream of French from the driver. Brae sighed and pulled away from me and handed the driver money and got out and offered me his hand.

“We’re here” he smiled at me his eyes filled with eager lust. I put my hand in his and stepped from the car a soft rain was beginning to fall as he closed the car door. I hesitated, I could feel my Brother all around me as I stood outside of the gothic building, the building seemed to have an aurora around it of protection. “You’ve changed your mind haven’t you?” Brae frowned

“Excuse me?” I blinked at him a couple of times.

“You’d rather just have dinner, right?” I wanted to tell him yes but something snapped as I heard a scream in my mind and saw Cole in flames and felt the anger and the betrayal my father believed in. “Kendra” Brae was standing in front of me holding my hands

“I’m… I’m fine” I choked back the want to burn Brae where he stood for cutting off my brothers head. ‘Take his seed mo inion take it and destroy him before he can destroy you’ the words came from nowhere and echoed in my head. I put a smile on my lips “Truly I’m fine just a little nervous” Brae laughed and pushed his hand through his hair as he put his arm around my waist and walked me to the door slipping a key into it and pushing it open.

“How can a woman as hot as you be nervous?’ he shook his head as the door clicked into place behind us and we stepped into the cage elevator. I felt my cheeks flush even if I was to destroy him, his words made me feel more than just a weapon for a moment. “You look cute when you blush” he stroked his fingers down my cheek

“Thank you”

“Wow a woman thanks me for a compliment damn that has to be a first” he chuckled as he opened the cage door and offered me his hand taking me to a door at the end of the hall and unlocking it.

“Why wouldn’t a woman like to hear those things” I cocked my head at him, it seemed only right to thank someone for being nice.

“Because most woman want one thing…” he locked the door behind us and took off his jacket “And I know this is going to sound a little pig headed but… well they see guys like me as a good one night stand, good body, not bad looking, but not relationship material” he rubbed his hand over his jaw “in fact I don’t blame them they’d be insane to get into a relationship with me and my crazy assed life” He looked truly sad for a moment.

“It cannot be that bad?” I put my hand on his arm He looked at it and smiled and then looked at me.

“I have a life no one would believe” he sighed “Now dinner?”

“I’d love to” I nodded. I felt like I wanted to learn more about Brae, he seemed as lost as I was and I felt it was no act.

We sat round a table and ate and talked, him never mentioning what he was just skirting a lot of the facts I already knew, he mentioned he got into some bad situations when his sister’s life had been threatened.

“Why was her life in danger?” I asked picking up the crystal wine glass from the table

“Some people don’t like our family and Star was a target” she pinched the bridge of his nose “She was kidnapped by some really sucky people and they wanted to do things to her that I and her fiancée weren’t about to allow so we had to do what we did to keep her safe… I would die to protect my sister from anyone” He looked at me “Okay we need to get off this subject” he sank the rest of his wine “I can’t believe I’m spilling my secrets to you” he chuckled
