…………………. I raised my hand to my cheek and wiped away the tears.

“He would have let you die” I croaked “he didn’t care”

“He doesn’t Brae chimed in he let go of Star and got up and walked over “it was from the start not our fight we were the ones dragged into it by birth” He put his hand on Seth’s shoulder “You okay?”

“I’ll be fine” Seth Nodded I sat foreword and reached for his arm all three of them became defensive Brae gripped my wrists.

“I will not hurt him” I looked at Brae “I promise you that”

“It’s okay” Seth said nodding to Brae

“Star I trust her” I looked at him wide eyed “I saw into her mind when I gave her the memories… I trust her” he smiled at me. Brae looked at Star she took a deep breath and gave a short nod and Brae released my wrists. I took Seth’s arm.

“I did this to you?”

“You tried to light him up like a candle” Brae stood still prepared next to the chair

“She was angry and confused” Seth didn’t take his eyes from mine

“I was angry you were hurt and you” I looked at Star “You were being used… I’m truly sorry for what my family has done” She looked down I took a deep breath and watched the pale glow light my finger tips I ran my hands over the singed flesh first on one arm and then the other healing the skin under my touch.

“Damn she can do that Healy thing you do” Brae whistled

“Anya told us she could dumbass” Star sighed as she kept her hands on Seth’s shoulders. I stopped doing what I was doing and looked at her.

“Anya… told you” I was dumbfounded. Star clamped her hand over her mouth I moved to get up. Seth held my hands “My Maid came to you and told you about me” I was shocked and angry “She signed my death warrant by coming here…” I struggled against Seth “She wasn’t to know you wouldn’t kill me as soon as we left the apartment”

“We gave her our word we wouldn’t do anything to you unless you struck first” Star said quickly

“It’s not just you” I moaned “My Father had no problem with losing you he’s told me he has no problem losing a daughter”” Seth’s face dropped. I closed my eyes and felt the air whip round me.

“Oh shit she’s gone” Brae looked round

“You didn’t think we were the only ones that new that move did you” Seth got up “Where does she live”

“Apartment on the other side of the river by the Eiffel tower”

“Take us or this could get really ugly” Star linked her fingers with Brae as Seth put a hand on his shoulder……

…. I opened my eyes back in my own bedroom I could hear talking in the living room. I moved round the furniture pushing open my door Iagan was pacing frantically all color washed from his face pain etched in his eyes.

“Iagan” Anya looked at me and called out to him

“YOU” I pointed at her and moved faster than Iagan I moved by him taking his dagger from its sheath at his hip I Hit her head on pinning her to the front door of the apartment the blade at her throat. “I trusted you”

“KENDRA WHAT THE HELL” I felt Iagan move for me

“DO NOT MOVE GUARDIAN OR I WILL END YOUR SISTER’S LIFE” I looked at him stopping his dead in his tracks “What did I do to you for you to betray me?” Anya was wide eyed and terrified “I saved your life I stopped as much of my father’s punishment on you and you sign my death warrant”

“Mo Bhean” she stammered “I haven’t…”

“DO NOT LIE” I snarled through the tears

“Kendra please” Iagan took a step

“I SAID DO NOT MOVE IAGAN” I shot him a look.

“Anya has done nothing” He pleaded “Kendra I swear to you”

“Er… I’d think twice about what you swear too” Iagan looked round at the voice as Seth, Star and Brae appeared in the room. Iagan’ hand went for the blade at his hip. “I think she has your weapon” Brae smiled as Seth walked by him Iagan moved to lunch himself at Seth

“IAGAN SO HELP ME I WILL KILL YOU MYSELF I SIAD DO NOT MOVE”

“I’m your guardian” He moved in front of me to stop Seth’s advance “He’s…”

“Okay Guardian boy” I heard Star sigh and felt the wind pick up and a thud and a muffled scream came from Anya

“Kendra” Seth put his hand over mine on the handle of the blade at Anya’s throat “She didn’t do it to hurt you”

“She may as well have taken my head while I slept” I felt the tears burn my cheeks

“Kendra let her down she thought she was doing the right thing” Brae was at my other side “Sweetheart Star and I had to stop Seth from killing Anya on sight last night he knew her” Seth smiled at me as I let my grip lessen Seth pulled me back into him and took the knife and tossed it into the wood of the table Brae caught Anya as her knees buckled under her. “I got you” He lifted her into his arms and laid her on the couch as Seth held me as I sobbed.

“Er… hello I have a guardian pined to the ceiling what do I do with him?” Star butted in.

“Let him down” Seth said leading me to the couch “Star… gently” a smile twitched on her lips as I watched Iagan lowered to his feet. His breathing hard his eyes on the three new Immortals in the room.

“Do not attack Iagan” I instructed as Star out her hand on her hips

“But these are…”

“Family” Star grinned “Back off lover boy you won’t stand a chance against three of us” she tipped her head at him as if weighing him up. Iagan ignored her and looked back to me and them walked over to Anya.
