Bound with fear

Seeing through the haze

………………. The rain poured down as the darkness of night wrapped round me. Gravestones surround me as a sobbing filtered through the air making me turn and looked round and saw Star on her knees in the mud she shakily got up

“Why?” She yelled to the sky ‘Why am I so confused…? how could I be in love with him… why did you kill me Mama” She dropped back to her knees “I can’t do this I don’t even know what I’m fighting?” Star sobs became a literal plea

“She did it to break the bond?” Star looked over her shoulder and began to crawl back in the mud shaking her head “If I killed you and spilled your blood then the bond made between us would be broken” Seth appeared his hair hanging wet round his face his shirt sticking to him as he crouched down wincing in pain as he did “But she didn’t know we were both in love already” He reached for Star. She slapped his hand away “Star”

“THE DRESS SETH” he looked at her “WHAT WERE YOUHAVING SOME FANTASY ABOUT LAST NIGHT BEING OUR WEDDING NIGHT” He hung his head “IS THAT WHY YOU TOLD ME NOT TO ASK?”

“Who told you?”

“Pete and Joe” She shook her head “I understand none of this” She pounded her fist on the marble topped tomb “Why didn’t you tell me”

“I didn’t think you’d wear it” he murmured “I’ve looked at that dress for the past 128 years each time I’ve tried to imagine you in it and how beautiful you would have looked and… and it tore me up inside…”

“Why didn’t you tell me you were supposed to get me in to bed just to make your Father happy… do I mean so little to you am I just a whore to sleep with” Seth face contorted in horror at her words “I know you tricked me into your bed… wow so much better than the way your brothers tried it” Her voice was sounding stronger than it should have with the pain in her words “Well Gregor Vandes has fuckin won… your damn Father has got what he wanted and you have me in your bed… Did you ever think anything of me or had time given you the chance to practice how to seduce me”

“Star” He reached for her. She threw her hand out I saw the air swirl fast and picked up my brother “No” he shouted over the roar of the wind he threw out his hands. Orange Flames leapt from his finger tips knocking Star off her feet, dropping Seth to the floor as she lost concentration. Seth ran at her before wrapping his arms tightly round her as she struggled “I love you… I have loved you forever. I did not lie with you last night for my Father, I did it because I wanted to and wanted you” he held her arms to my sides “Please I am not lying to you” he grabbed her hand “We heard each other’s blood in our veins when we came together” I felt the blush rise in my cheeks as he spoke about being in bed with er “Please look” She looked at his hand outstretched next to hers. “We were bound with blood you have my blood in your veins and I have yours” She looked from her hand to him and them to his hand “We had no control of what was supposed to happen… but they did not think we would truly fall on love with each other” He moved closer to her his arms pulling her closer to him “the only way the bond could be broken was if I spilled your blood” I saw the pain on his face “I knew nothing of this till today”

“Oh god” Star groaned and moved away from him “She got you to protect your Father” Star looked ill “she told me she didn’t want me with you” Her hands gripped on to the closet headstone that I realized bore her name “She told me She had to stop all the blood that was being spilt and she was sorry for what she’d done… Oh god she knew you’d have to kill me to cut our tie” he nodded slowly.

“But it didn’t work other than to torture me for what has felt like eternity my love” he literally crawled over to her and pulled her onto his lap “Nothing could break what was already between us” he held Stars’s face in his hands “I did not find you to give you to my father his reasons are sick and twisted even for him for wanting us to be together”
