I'm Not So Bad.

Chapter 11

Ocean's pov

Today is my first day working at Cindy's which i'm excited about. Right know I am sitting in my math lecture, waiting for the bell to ring so I can start my first day of work. I believe you should work for what you get because I grew up poor, and my parents could never afford anything, so I had to get a job when I was 10. The bell rang snapping me out of my thoughts. I sprang out of my seat and started my journey to Cindy's Cafe.

Right know I am walking down the dark alleyway's again. You are probably wondering why I love walking in dark alleyway's, well that's because they are like shortcuts and I can fight anyway so I won't get hurt. I wonder what River is doing right now. I can't believe I have a small crush on him. I promised myself not to let myself fall after what he did to me. I got snapped out of my thought's when I felt a hand wrap around my wrist. 

I quickly wrapped my hand around their wrist and kicked the person in the knee. I heard the person hiss in pain. I smirked and flipped the person over so they were on their back. I heard the person cry out in pain. I turned around to see who the culprit was, and I gasped.

"Oh Shit" I said 

"My knee hurts like hell" River said hissing

I crouched down on one knee and sighed. He was laying on his back holding his knee to his chest.

"I think you broke my knee" River said squinting

"Let me see" 

"You might hurt it more" 

I chuckled.

"I won't" 

I pulled up his pant leg and looked at his knee. I bent it straight, and he squirmed. I put down his pant leg and stood up.

"I didn't break it, it's just bruised" I said shrugging

I offered him my hand, he took it and stood up.

"Why the hell did you attack me?" He asked looking at me like I was from a different planet.

"Why the hell did you come behind me and grab my wrist without telling me it was you?" I asked.

"Touche" He mumbled.

I shook my head, and put his arm around my shoulder.

"Where are we going?" He asked after a few minutes.

"Well it is my first day of work"

"At Cindy's?"

"Yup" I said

We got to Cindy's five minutes late.

"Hey Cindy" I said right when we walked in.

She was sitting at the counter with a chocolate chip muffin. River was still resting on my arm.

"Hey guys- Oh River are you alright?" She asked, once she saw River flinching in pain.

I pulled out a chair and River sat on it.

"Yeah i'm fine" River said hissing in pain.

"Here I will go get you an ice pack from the back" I said walking to the back.

I found the freezer and pulled out an ice pack. I started walking towards River and Cindy who were talking in hushed voices.

"I knew it!!!" Cindy exclaimed randomly.

I walked up to River and stood behind him.

"You knew what?" I asked curios.

River turned around and looked at me. He smiled.

"Oh nothing, when you're ready you can start work" Cindy said.

I nodded and handed River the ice pack.

"Thanks" River mumbled.

"You're welcome" I patted his back and walked to the counter.

I started cleaning the counter, in the corner of my eye I saw River look at me and blush.

Why does he keep blushing?

I shrugged it off, and acted like I didn't see him. I heard the bell to the door jingle. I looked up and saw a cute boy around my age walking towards me. I smiled and he smirked, but it was creepy not sexy like River's.

Wait what did I just say?

He reached the counter, and looked at me like I was a peace of meat.

"Hello how may I help you?" I asked in a sweet voice.

"I got a few things you can help me with" He smirked.

"Umm....okay....what would you like to eat?" I asked getting uncomfortable.

"Some chocolate cake, a strawberry milkshake, and you"

I started fuming.

Did I mention I hate it when guys think they can talk to girls like their objects?

No? 

Well I do.

"Excuse me?" I asked crossing my arms.

"You heard me"

I rolled my eyes, and started working on his order. I felt his gaze on me. So I turned around to see him staring at my ass. I walked around the counter, and grabbed him by the collar. He looked at me smirking. He probably thinks I fell for his trick. I dragged him by the collar and towards the door. I walked passed River, and saw him scowling. I looked at him and winked. He looked at me confused.

I started pulling the guy to the back door, which leads to the alleyway, and also the dumpsters. Once we got there, I pushed the guy to the wall.

"Ohh..feisty I like it" He winked.

He tried grabbing my waist, but I grabbed both his hands and smashed them into the wall. Then I put his hands around his neck. I pushed him up the wall, and gave him the most menacing look I could do.

"Wh-at a-a-re y-ou doin-g" He chocked out.

"If you ever try to treat me like an object again I will fucking break you" I seethed.

He nodded, and looked at me with pure fear. I let go of his neck and he fell to the ground. I looked down at him and smirked.

"So do you want your order?" I asked sweetly.

He shook is head and stood up. I looked at his neck to see it all bruised. He ran away. I heard a chuckle. Startled I turned around to see River, with amusement all over his face.

"You like that?" I asked amused.

He nodded, and started laughing. I chuckled and walked inside.
