I'm Not So Bad.

Chapter 12

River's pov

Right now I am walking around because i'm bored. Mike and Rebecca are on a date and Ocean is starting work today. So I have nothing to do. You're probably thinking aren't you a bad boy, don't you know a lot of cool places. The answer is yes I do know a lot of cool places but i'm not in the mood. I saw a dark alleyway and went to it. 

Ocean. Man I love her name. I can't get her out of my head, and I don't know why, I am way too scared to ask her out. I usually don't get scared of things but I am scared of rejection especially from Ocean. God I love her name, her laugh, her smile, her attitude. Wait...

Am I in love with Ocean?

I got snapped out of my thoughts when I saw Ocean pass me.

Wait why is she in this alleyway?

I watched her back as she was leaving.

Did she even see me?

Well I am going to go ask her. I ran up to her and grabbed her wrist. She stopped walking, and grabbed my wrist. I looked down at my wrist in confusion. Then I felt a sharp pain in my knee, I hissed in pain.

Holy shit.

She then flipped me over, and I landed on my back.

Were the hell did she learn to do that?

I cried out in pain. It feels like I was ran over by a train. I heard a gasp.

Looks like she found out it was me

"Oh shit" I heard her say

"My knee hurts like hell"

She crouched down on one knee and sighed. She looked at me cradling my leg with worried eyes.

"I think you broke my knee" I said still in pain.

"Let me see"

"You might hurt it more"

She chuckled.

"I won't"

She pulled up my pant leg and looked at my knee. She bent it straight.

That hurt like a motherfucker.

She put down my pant leg and stood up.

"I didn't break it, it's just bruised" She said shrugging like it was no big deal.

I took her outstretched hand and stood up.

"Why the hell did you attack me?" I asked looking at her.

"Why the hell did you come behind me and grab my wrist without telling me it was you?"

"Touche" I mumbled.

She put my arm around her shoulders and started walking with me.

"Where are we going?" I asked once we got out of the alleyway.

"Well it is my first day of work"

"At Cindy's?"

"Yup"

We walked up to Cindy's and walked in.

"Hey Cindy" Ocean said.

I saw Cindy eating a muffin by the counter. Ocean walked up to her, I still had my arm around her. I hissed in pain.

"Hey guys- Oh River are you alright?" Cindy said once she saw me.

Ocean pulled out a chair for me. I sat down.

"Yeah i'm fine" I said still in pain.

How the hell did she do that?

"Here I will go get you an ice pack from the back" Ocean said walking away.

"What happened?" Cindy asked worried.

"Oh...umm...I got kicked in the knee pretty hard" She looked at me with a questioning look. I just shrugged."Long story" I said.

"So do you like her?" Cindy asked smiling.

"Who?" I asked confused.

"Don't act stupid, it's obvious that you like Ocean" 

Once she said that I started blushing. I scratched the back of neck.

"I knew it!!!" She exclaimed

"You knew what?" I heard a voice say behind me.

I turned around and saw Ocean, with an ice pack in her hand.

"Oh nothing, when you're ready you can start work" Cindy said to Ocean.

Ocean nodded and smiled. She handed me the ice pack.

"Thanks" I mumbled.

"You're welcome" She said patting my back and walking to counter.

Cindy winked at me and walked away to her office. I blushed again.

Why do I keep blushing?

I looked at Ocean and saw her cleaning the counter. the door opened to the cafe reviling a guy, probably around 20. He looked at Ocean with a lustful look. My blood started boiling.

If he tries to touch her I will break him.

"Hello how may I help you?" Ocean asked nicely.

"I got a few things you can help me with" He said flirting.

"Umm....okay....what would you like to eat?" Ocean asked shifting uncomfortably.

"Some chocolate cake, a strawberry milkshake, and you" He said.

I started scowling. 

She looked at him with a pissed off face.

"Excuse me?" She asked crossing her arms.

"You heard me"

I started fuming. She started working and he started staring at her ass. Oh how much I wanted to kill him. She turned around, and looked at him. She walked around the counter and grabbed him by the collar. He looked like he accomplished something.

Wait is she falling for his trick?

She pulled him by the collar towards the back door. When Ocean walked passed me she looked at me and winked. I looked at her confused.

I got up from my seat and walked behind them. Once I was in the back, I ducked by the dumpster so they wouldn't see me. Ocean pushed the guy at the wall.

"Ohh..feisty I like it"

Hey that's my line

He tried grabbing her waist, but she grabbed both his hands and smashed them into the wall. Then she put his hands around his neck. She pushed him up the wall, so he was getting choked. She glared at him.

Wow this girl has anger issues.

"Wh-at a-a-re y-ou doin-g" The guy said choking.

"If you ever try to treat me like an object again I will fucking break you" Ocean seethed.

He nodded, and looked at her scared. She let go of his neck and he fell to the ground. She looked down at him. I stood up, just in case she decided to start throwing punches.

"So do you want your order?" She asked sweetly.

I held in my laugh.

He shook is head and stood up. He had bruises around his neck. He ran away. I started chuckling. She turned to look at me. 

"You like that?" She asked looking amused.

I nodded, and started laughing. She chuckled and walked into the cafe. I shook my head and walked in behind her
