Chapter 7

Ocean's pov.

I decided to take a me day. I think i'm gonna see if I can get a job at Cindy's. I was currently walking through the dark alley ways. I wasn't scared, I don't get scared that easily, and besides I was a street fighter so I know how to fight. I know what your thinking, the good girl was a street fighter? Yes I was I was also a street dancer and a street Racer. My family was poor so I had to get money some how. I got cut off from my thoughts when a man probably in his thirty's started walking my way.

"Can I help you?" I asked

"Yeah" He said with a evil smirk.

"What may I do for you?" I asked still walking.

Suddenly I was pushed a against a brick wall, very ruff may I add.

"Where do you think you're going bitch" He sneered in my face.

I wrinkled my nose, his breath smelled like heavy alcohol.

"Umm...that is none of your business"

"You bitch i'm gonna teach you a lesson" He said raising his fist, his fist was almost to my face when I moved my head so he ended up punching the wall.

"Ahhh!!!" He screamed

I quickly took his distracted state as my advantage, I swung my leg around his two legs. I freed my hands, and grabbed his shirt collar and threw him on the ground. I then put him in a choke hold and smirked.

"YOU BITCH!!!" He screamed

"Next time think before you mess with someone Bastard" I seethed in his face.

"O-kay y-es m-am" He said scared.

I got up and started walking out of the dark alley when I heard footsteps running behind me. I turned around to see that guy again. He was about to lunge at me when I grabbed his hand and flipped him, He started groaning in pain. I spun around and walked out of the alley.

Finally.

I walked up to Cindy's Cafe and went inside, I saw Cindy eating a muffin behind the counter. I walked up to her with a smile.

"Hey Cindy" I said still smiling

"Hey sweetie" She said smiling at me.

"Ummm I was wondering if I could have a job here?"

"Of course"

"Wait really?" I asked

"Yeah I have been needing a helper, have you ever worked at a Cafe before?"

"No but I have worked at a bar"

She nodded.

"You can start Monday after class, today how about you look around and get to know the place" I nodded, and started looking around.

I was looking around still getting to know the place, When I heard the bell ring from the door. I thought it was somebody leaving so I didn't look behind me.

"What are you doing?" I heard a voice say behind me.

I jumped.

Jesus that scared me.

I turned around to see River with a curios look in his eyes. I smiled.

"Hey River" I said

"Hey Shortcake so.....What are you doing?"

"Oh I applied for a job here, I start Monday but I am looking around to get to know the place"

"Cool" He said happy.
