SUMMER’S POINT OF VIEW:

“Summer, go home.” Sam’s hauntingly calm voice spoke softly. “Jake’s probably worried, and—”

I interrupted him with a yell. “I honestly don’t give a flying fuck if Jacob is worried—I refuse to allow you to plan attack on the pack’s allies!”

Sam sighed, speaking his words slowly, as if I were a young child. “Summer—once they violate this treaty, we will no longer be allies. It’s my duty to protect the people—and, to do that, the treaty must be upheld. If they violate it, we will attack.”

“But it’s not your choice!” I cried. “So, they want to change Bella into a vampire. Who cares? Let them be! Planning an attack is more dangerous then letting them change her!”

“You’ve seen how uncontrollable newborn vampires are, and you understand just how much of a danger they are.” His voice was so calm, it was nearly monotone. “I cannot allow such a threat to be so close to La Push. The pack will attack.”

I shook my head, completely shocked. “Are you always this stupid, or is it a one time thing?”

Sam sighed again; the way he acted towards me reminded me of a young child annoying a parent, or grandparent. “Please, Summer. Go home. You’re not changing anything.”

“No!” I hissed under my breath. “I’m not leaving—not until you realize how horrible of a person you are for doing this! You think you’re protecting La Push and it’s residents—but in reality, you’re making things worse.”

            Sam’s eyes narrowed. “How?”

I jabbed my finger at him. “You know how good the Cullen’s are. You know perfectly well how they wouldn’t dare let Bella get loose, get out of control if she were one of them. Hell, they defeated a whole army, and you’re doubting their control on one fucking newborn? Get real! All you’re doing is forcing your pack to attack the Cullen’s—how does that feel, by the way? Forcing the people you love do to something, not giving them a chance to voice their opinions, or not participate in this attack?—because you’re scared! You’re completely biased, Sam. You’ve never liked the Cullen’s, and you never will. You don’t deserve to be Alpha!”

Sam fell quiet, his hands balling into fists at his side; I could see the anger and frustration growing inside of him, but he didn’t begin to shake like Jacob would have. After a silent moment, his deep voice broke the silence. “My choice is made. It is final. Go home.”

“Ugh!” I threw my hands up in fury. “You’re a complete dunce!”

“I’d appreciate it if you didn’t get mad at Jacob or Levi for this,” He said, his voice monotone, a complete mask of his emotions. “They don’t have a decision, and it isn’t their fault.”

I shook my head stubbornly. “Take them out.”

            “What?”

I shrugged. “Take them out of the battle. Don’t get them involved.” I leaned forward, rage making everything go red, as I hissed through my teeth. “Take them out.

Sam shook his head. “Jacob’s the strongest fighter. I need him.”

“Then, I will continue to bother him about it until he promises me not to participate.”
