SUMMER’S POINT OF VIEW:
Things changed after that phone call—but they weren’t really related to me, for once. After I calmed myself down—you know, stopped the crazy hyperventilating, and suffocated the attempt to call him back and start bawling—Levi came home; he was acting strange, and had a funny expression on his face.
“You sure your okay?” I frowned, eyeing him carefully.
He wrung his hands, glancing to the floor nervously, then to the ceiling; he seemed a little bit ADD; he couldn’t sit still. “I don’t know. I feel….wrong.”
“Should I call Carlisle…?” I looked towards Levi hopefully, noticing how large he’d gotten recently—in the past few days, he seemed to shoot from a little bit shorter than me to nearly a head above me. “Maybe, he could help.”
“No!” He spat, his eyes wide. “No, no—I’m not sick, I’m fine.”
My eyebrows pulled down. “I don’t know, Levi—you look a little…green.”
His breathing picked up, then, and his shoulder began to shake; Levi’s hands were shivering, then began to quiver more and more violently. A tremor rolled up his shoulder, and he closed his eyes; his mouth opened and a ferocious growl ripped through the air, making my heart stop. “What?” He hissed, as if I’d murdered someone.
I stepped back, a little frightened. “Levi—maybe, you should go for a walk, and cool down—”
“I don’t need cooling down!” He insisted, his eyes wild. He began to shake even worse, and it looked as if he were having a seizure.
“L-Levi,” I managed to say as I stepped backwards; he took a deliberate step towards me, his hands like claws facing upwards in the air. “Please, just stop, and take a moment.”
The shaking seemed to build him up; his chest rose with every shake, and he stepped towards me, towering over me. “I don’t need a moment,” he snarled. Then, he fell still; his eyes landed on me, and he tried to jump back, a yelp escaping his lips.
“Levi!” I screamed, as Levi jumped back.
He screamed, then his head snapped back; his body exploded, tearing apart completely, but restoring itself. In Levi’s place was a wolf—a large wolf, not the small one I remembered when I gave birth to him. He had the same markings—an off white body, shadowed with black on top, framing his icy blue eyes. The wolf itself was incredibly large—although, not as large as Jacob’s wolf—and, as it stood, it knocked things off the shelves, sending plates flying and kicked the toaster off of the counter.
The wolf’s eyes landed on me, wide and scared; it stepped towards me, a growl escaping it’s mouth.
