Jason, Piper, Frank, Hazel, and I walked into an office in Camp Jupiter that belonged to the praetors. Frank knocked on the door, a faint "come in" responding back. He twisted the knob and held it open for us. A Latina girl who looked to be around my age stood behind her desk. She wore a purple Camp Jupiter shirt with jeans. Her brown hair was pulled into a neat side braid. Two metallic looking greyhounds stood by her side. One was completely gold while the other was silver.

They suddenly growled at us, well, more like me. The two dogs stalked up to me, circling me around. Their ruby eyes were basically piercing into my soul. I perked an eyebrow at the two, not afraid. Compared to the Beast, these two look like harmless puppies. Crossing my arms, I looked up at the girl.

"Why are they growling at me?" The dogs snarled at my question. I huffed and glared at them.

"I don't know." She admitted, tilting her head. "Aurum. Argentum. Come here."

Aurum and Argentum? Isn't that Latin for gold and silver? Shaking my head, I pushed the thought away. That wasn't important right now. Argentum and Aurum didn't obey. This didn't settle well with the girl. She grumbled under her breath and sternly called out their names again. My friends looked at each other, not knowing what to do.

"Argentum! Aurum! Sit." Frank ordered, using his new praetor status. Once again, the two dogs didn't listen. He looked up at me, confusion written all over his face. "Why aren't they listening? What did you do?"

"What? Me? Why do you guys always assume I did something wrong!?" I whined. One of the dogs, I'm assuming Argentum, got closer to me. He started to sniff at my leg. "What in the? Why are you sniffing me?"

Aurum copied Argentum's motion, sniffing my other leg. I took a step back instinctively. One of them growled. I raised my hands up, showing that I wasn't going to move anymore. I looked over at the other demigods, hoping they knew what to do.

Unexpectedly, the two dogs started to wag their tails. A doggish smile grew on their faces and they sat down in front of me. I furrowed my eyebrows at them. Aurum nudged my leg with his snout. Confused, I hesitantly lowered my hand. Wagging his golden tail even more, he pressed his head into my head.

"What in the world?" Hazel mumbled out, looking up at Frank. He shrugged at her, not knowing how to answer her question. I gently stroked the top of the metallic dog, the smoothness and coldness of the metal sending shivers down my spine.

"Well, this is odd. Have they ever done this before?" Piper looked up towards the unknown girl.

"No. Never." She walked over toward us, eyeing me up and down. I suddenly felt intimidated, which is a very rare feeling for me. "Why would they sniff you?"
