10 year old Nevah right after her mother was killed

I stared at the monster that slithered towards me in fear. Tears were streaming down my face. My chest was heaving as I took everything in. My mother's head was only inches away from my feet and my back was pressed against the wall.

"Daughter of Possseidon." She hissed at me, adjusting the hilt of her sword in her hand. She grinned as she raised the sword above her head.

Panicking, I kicked one of her snake-like legs before rolling away. The snake lady groaned in pain, narrowing her eyes at me. I scrambled onto my feet and ran into the kitchen since the monster was blocking my exit to the front door.

"Come back here!"

"No! You ugly snake lady!" I screamed, entering the kitchen. My eyes frantically scanned the area, looking for something to defend myself with. The lady that looked like a snake quickly slithered behind me, yelling curses I have never heard of.

Spotting my mother's cooked casserole, I grabbed it. My hands erupted in pain as the metal pan burned my palms. Letting out a small cry, I threw the pan and food at the monster's face.

"Ah!" The monster dropped her sword to take at her face. The food and pan seared her skin, leaving welts. My eyes drifted towards the sword. Following what I was eyeing, the snake lady chuckled and rushed toward me. She wrapped her hand around my throat, pushing me against the counter. "That'sss cute, thinking you can fight me."

I yelped, immediately scratching my nails against her hands. Pain shot through my hands from the burns. I chocked out a sob and tried to kick her again. The fear of dying like my mother flooded through me. Black dots started to swim in my vision as it got harder to breathe. There was a weird feeling settling in my stomach.

Think about the feeling you have in your stomach. I heard a voice softly whisper into my ear. Blinking, I focused on the tug in my stomach. The sink to my left started to rattle.

"No." The Snake Lady looked at me with wide eyes. She reached behind me and grabbed a knife.

Now make it come to you. The voice quickly stated. Snake Lady raised the knife. And pushing the monster away from you.

The knife started to come towards my chest. I quickly closed my eyes shut and made the weird feeling come to me. A loud whoosh echoed in the kitchen. There was a yell and the pressure on my throat was gone. There was a brief cool sensation on my hands before it was gone. Coughing, I opened my eyes to see the monster on the other kitchen. Water knocked her against the wall. The knife she had was dropped in between the two of us.

Wheezing, I stumbled towards the sword. I licked my lips anxiously and clumsily held the sword in front of me. The snake lady stood up with a snarl leaving her lips. She made her way towards me with her hands extended for my head. Panicking, I closed my eyes and swung the sword.
