"You know what we haven't done in a long time?" I asked Kira

"You know what we haven't done in a long time?" I asked Kira. We were currently laying on her bed, staring up at the ceiling. It was Saturday morning and the rest of the pack was busy with either work, family, or homework.

"What?" Kira looked at me, her hands placed behind her head.

"A picnic." I grinned. "Just you and me. Maybe out in the woods, your backyard, a park, where ever you want to have it."

"Oh I have missed our picnics!" Kira exclaimed, sitting up with a wide smile.

"I know, me too!" I sat up too, hugging my knees.

"We can do it in my backyard under that big willow tree." Kira suggested. "And I think I have everything here that we need to make a picnic."

"You have the blanket?" I asked with a perked eyebrow.

"Duh." Kira hopped off her bed and went to her closet. Opening the door, she shuffled through some of her things before pulling out the checkered red and white blanket. She turned around and wiggled the blanket with a grin. "Let's do this."

"Yay!" I sang out, jumping off of the bed. "I'll cook and you bake?"

"If its your extra cheesy grilled cheese with that yummy seasoning you always made than yes." Kira nodded, already walking towards her bedroom door. Opening it up, we both started to walk to her kitchen. "I'll make my popcorn trail mix and cut up some fruit."

"With the fudge brownie bits or the frosted animal crackers?" I asked, my mouth already watering for the sweets.

"I'm in the mood for the animal crackers." Kira placed the picnic blanket on top of the kitchen table before skipping her way into the pantry. "You already know where everything is, so you can go ahead and start cooking."

"Alright, I'll probably help you with your dessert if I finish early. Or make one of the sides. Or how about those Greek skewers you loved the last time I made them?" I followed her into the pantry. Kira eagerly nodded her head. I laughed. "Plus, I have to leave the grilled cheeses for last so they can be hot by the time we start setting up outside."

"Whatever works for you." Kira smiled, existing the pantry with an armful of ingredients.

I grabbed the sticks for the skewers, olive oil, bread, basil seasoning, and garlic seasoning before leaving the pantry. Placing the ingredients on the island, I went to the fridge. Opening the fridge, I got the rest of the ingredients I needed.

Kira already had the popcorn popping in the microwave. I grabbed a small bowl and a brush before heading to the island. I measured the olive oil, basil, and garlic seasoning. Then I poured them into the bowl.

The microwave beeped and Kira took out the bag of popcorn and poured it into a big pink bowl. Putting a scoop of butter into a small glass bowl, I put it in the microwave to melt. Pressing in fifteen seconds, I backed away and washed the veggies.

"Remember the last time we had a picnic back in New York?" Kira asked as the microwave beeped. She looked up at me, opening another packet of popcorn.

"Yeah." I snorted out, taking the butter out of the microwave and pouring it into the other bowl. "Percy, Tyson, and Grover kept stealing our food as we prepared it."

"And then Peter and Ned came over because someone forgot about the study group they had promised them." Kira perked an eyebrow at me. She put the bag of popcorn in the micro.

"Hey," I wagged the brush at her before stirring. "I got the dates mixed up. Not my fault."

"It is so your fault." Kira chuckled, opening the box of Chex cereal. "Peter and I kept reminding you about the dates."

"I don't recall that." I sheepishly admitted, moving to cut up the cucumbers. "But hey! I had just came back from a quest with Clarisse."

"Yeah, okay." Kira poured the popcorn into the bowl after she got it out of the microwave. "Whatever you say."

I pouted playfully, bumping my hip into Kira's. She laughed, shaking her head as she poured the Chex into the bowl. Getting the block of mozzarella cheese, I started to cut it up into cubes. Finishing it up, I started to poke the cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, and olives onto the sticks.

"Okay, how sweet do you want the popcorn trail mix to be?" Kira asked.

"The sweeter the better." I grinned, grabbing four slices of bread. Kira beamed in reaponse and started to add yogurt covered pretzels, frosted animal crackers, small marshmellows, chocolate chips, and peanuts into the popcorn and Chex.

I turned on the stove and placed a pan on top. Dipping the brush into the bowl that held the seasoning, I started to spread it on both sides of each bread slice. Once I saw that the pan was hot enough, I placed the slices of bread on it. From the corner of my eye, I saw Kira already cutting up fruit.

Flipping the breads with a spatula, I placed the cheese on two slices of the breads. I grabbed the remaining two slices and put it on top of the cheese covered breads. As those cooked, I quickly grabbed to paper plates and a knife.

"And...done!" Kira said as she put all of the cut up fruit into another bowl. "Let me just get the drinks and then I'll go ahead and start setting up outside."

"Okay, I'm almost done here." I told her, turning off the stove before moving the grilled cheese onto the plates. Kira gave me a nod and started getting everything else. I halved the grilled cheeses. Suddenly, the door bell went off. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "Kira? Where we expecting anyone?"

"Not that I know of." Kira replied, walking past me to go check who was at the door. She unlocked the door and opened it to reveal Scott. He instantly smiled at his girlfriend and pecked her lips.

"Wait..." Scott drew back, looking over Kira's shoulder to see me. "Where you two having a Girl's Day?"

"Sorta." Kira awkwardly smiled, leaning against the door.

"Yup!" I nodded, popping the 'p'. Kira looked at me and gave me a troubled look.

"What do I do?!" She mouthed to me.

"I can ask Stiles to see if he is free right now from his homework? We can have a double date here." I suggested.

"Sounds like fun." Kira breathed out in relief.

"I can call him." Scott fished out his phone.

"Great, I guess I can go ahead and make more grilled cheese sandwhiches." Walking back to the stove, I looked at Kira and gave her a grin. "Looks like it's on you this time."

"Oh shut up." Kira blushed, swatting my shoulder. I laughed and went to cooking once again.
