Lily looked up at the stool where the sorting hat sat.
McGonagall began to call names. "Abbot, Kyle
A scrawny blond scurried up. "Ravenclaw!"
"Aberdale, Scarlet." A redhaired girl came up.
"Hufflepuff!"
"Alextron, Morgan."
Amy stepped up, which confused Lily.
"Slytherin!"
"Diggory, Amelia."
"Hufflepuff!"
"Dumbledore, Aberforth."
"Ravenclaw!"
"Dumbledore, Ariana."
"Ravenclaw!"
There were murmers. Dumbledore had kids?
"Evans, Jacob."
"Slytherin!"
"Ford, Gizmo."
"Gryffindor!"
"Ford, Opie."
"Slytherin!"
"Ford, Samantha."
"Ravenclaw!"
"Lestrange, Bella."
The room went silent as a black haired girl walked up, her head low. The hat hadn't touched her head for a heartbeat. "Slytherin!"
The girl slipped to her table. "Longbottom, Elara."
Elara slipped up and the hat was placed on her head. "Hufflepuff!" There was applause.
She smiled, slipping to her table. "Lovegood, Wyat."
Wyat walked up, lowering his head. "Ravenclaw!"
They cheered, siding down. "Malfoy, Scorpius."
Scorpius took a breath, slipping up. The hat was placed on his head. "Interesting. Brave and cunning, but smart and caring. Oh well, Slytherin!"
Slytherin cheered as Scorpius sat down, next to Amy. Maybe her real name was Morgan and Amy was a nickname.
"Potter, James."
The room went silent. A child of the Golden Trio was a big deal. "Smart, very smart, but brave as well. Ravenclaw!"
They cheered as James walked to the table.
She took a deep breath. "Snape, Lillian."
She took another deep breath, stepping up. The hat was placed on her head. "Hello old friend," she whispered.
The hat chuckled. "Smart, cunning, brave, kind. Very difficult."
