"Ravenclaw!"

Lily's heart sunk. She had expected Slytherin. She sat down next to James who was smirking at her. "You ok there?"

She shrugged, looking up at the staff table. Hagrid was beaming at her, Minerva was a smiling. But Professor Evans was frowning at her. "Weasley, Fredrick."

"Gryffindor!"

"Weasley, Hugo!"

"Hufflepuff!"

"Wealsey, Rose."

"Gryffindor!"

They cheered and Rose hurried after her cousin to where Fred and Belle sat.

"Zabini, Blake."

A boy slid up, smirking. "Slytherin!"

Minerva smiled, slipping up to the staff table, tapping her fork against her goblet. "Ok, ok. Now that we are all sorted into our houses and ready to eat. It is time to go over the rules."

Some kids groaned but didn't say anything.

"This year Slytherin has a new head. Our new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Professor Dramon. Her partner Professor Weasley will also help her regulate the Slytherin house. As you know Professor Flitwick has finally retired and Professor Evans will fully take over Charms. Professor Longbottom asks that no playing in the greenhouse. Secondly if your house head allows you to, you may tryout for Quidditch but you must bring your own broom. Thirdly Mr. Filtch asks you, no Weasley Wizard Wheezes products."

There was much yelling but Professor Evans silenced them. "Now, Professor Hagrid asks that no one to into the Forbidden Forest without him. It is dangerous, no swimming in the Black Lake. Now. Prefects will lead you all back to your dorms after dinner. Now, you have no class tomorrow so learn your surroundings and enjoy the feast."

The feast appeared on the table and the others tucked in. But Lily didn't. Instead she just sat there. She wanted to talk to Scorpius, but he was too far away.

She looked over at James, who was looking at her. "You need to eat, here."

He handed her a roll, which she took. She smiled softly, eating it quietly.

She heard a voice behind her and turn, but was met with a moleskin coat. "Hagrid?"

"'ello there Lily, want to go for a walk?"

She nodded, getting up. She waved goodbye to James and hurried after Hargid.

Her hand went up to her necklace and she gasped. It had changed. Now I'm her hand was a pendant the size of a baby's fist.

"My necklace!" she exclaimed to Hagrid

"My necklace!" she exclaimed to Hagrid. "Its-"

"Changed. Isn't that what 'ittle Malfoy told yers was goin' to 'appen?"

"Yes, but-"

"Ah, Rubeus. Just the man I was looking for."

Slughorn was coming up to them, smiling. "Darn it," she mumbled.

"What do you need Horace?"

"Well, so you have any Wigentree bark? I'm low. If not can you get some from the forest?"

Hagrid frowned. "I don't believe I 'ave any 'orace. 'ut I'll check."

"Thank you Hagrid," with that Horace was gone. Where was he going?

She just shrugged, looking back up at Hagrid. "How's Fang?"

"Sad. 'e missed yer."

She smiled sadly. "Its been hectic at Draco's."

"Yer want to 'ell me 'bout it?"

"I don't think I should. If I do you can't tell Rose and Hugo."

Hagrid's mouth formed a perfect 'O' and he asked, "You know about 'mione and 'alfoy being 'gether once?"

She looked up at him. "Astoria cheated with Ron Weasley and Hermione has been staying at Draco's. I didn't know they had been together once."

Hagrid nodded. "Once. In their 'ast year 'ere. They 'ad come back fors a redo 'ear."

She nodded, wanting to know more. "'tis not my place to tell yer."

She sighed, checking her watch. Everbody would be back in their dorms by now. She was going to get in trouble if she was caught. "I need to head back Hagrid. I don't want to get in trouble."

Hagrid nodded, patting her on the head. "'night 'ily."

"Goodnight Hagrid."
