Merry Christmas

Lily sat on her bed, running her fingers through Mutante's wings, who sat on her leg, cooing. "Merry Christmas, Mutante," she said, smiling.

Mutante rubbed his beak against her face, cooing louder. "Hey," she heard Hugo say, making her look up. She didn't speak to Hugo much, they tended to rub each other the wrong way.

"Hey," she said back, Mutante turned to look as well. At least the bird didn't attack him anymore.

"So, uh. Everyone is downstairs and waiting on you."

"Oh," she said, setting Mutante
on the bed. "I didn't know."

She stood up, brushing past him as she left. Hugo followed her downstairs, where everyone waited. She blushed, going downstairs and sitting next to Draco's chair. Draco chuckled, ruffling her hair and turning to Scorpius. "Go ahead," he said and the rest of the children moved to grab a gift to tuck into, but Lily stayed where she sat, dozing off against Draco's chair.

"Why aren't you getting yourself a gift, Lily?" Draco asked, making her look up.

She shrugged, yawning. Draco picked up a random gift with her name on it, handing it to her. "Go on," he said.

She sighed, unwrapping it, only to smile. It was a copy of Tales of Beedle the Bard. She checked the name, Hermione had given it her. She flushed red, looking up at Hermione. "Thank you."

"You're welcome. I thought you would like it. Albus Dumbledore gave it to me."

She set it down as a grey owl swooped it the room, dropping a package into Draco's lap, a knapsack actually. "Ah, must be Mum," he said, chuckling. Hermione looked over at Draco.

"Does she know?"

"Of course she does," Draco said, taking her hand. She found it sweet Draco loved Hermione, Hermione was nice and wouldn't hurt Draco.

"Let's see, Scorpius, Lily, Grey, Rose, Hugo, Hermione and me," he said, handing out the gifts.

Lily opened it, grinning. It was a set of potions books, the ones she couldn't find to save her life. She opened the letter.

Lillian,
Merry Christmas,
I found these a while ago when I was helping your father pack up some things when you were an infant. I thought you would like these, there are notes in them as well.
With love,
Narcissa Malfoy.

She smiled, opening them. She instantly recognized her father's handwriting, the elegant but easy-to-read scrawl across the pages, giving tips and reminders. Scorpius walked over to her, handing her a little package. "This is from me," he said.

He sat down in front of her, waiting. She hesitantly opened it, gasping. He had got her the Case of Beasts, handwritten and only one in five, by Newt Scamander. She looked up at him, appalled.  But she hugged her, smiling. "Thank you Scorpius!"

Scorpios chuckled, hugging her back. "You're welcome, Lily."

"How did you find it?"

"Well, let's just say it was a game of cat and mouse, but it was worth it."

She blushed red, running her hands over the worn brown cover. If this was going to be all day, this was going to be a long day.

Logan bit her lip, sitting in her beanbag chair, poking the emoji pillow in it. She wondered if he would send her a gift. Rose was sitting across from her, digging through her bag. "Waiting on him?" she asked.

"Yes, I don't know if he'll send anything though."

"Well, if not you will be seeing him next school year."

"Fat chance, there are so many kids going to the Triwizard Tournament I probably won't be picked."

"Since they lowered the age you might go. Third years will be going."

"And all thanks to-"

"Harry Potter," they said together, laughing.

Three owls swooped into the room and they stopped. Two of them were black, one was grey. She smiled as one of the black owls landed in her lap, a package in it's claws, along with  a letter in it's beak. She took both, opening the letter.

Logan,

Merry Christmas.

I couldn't stop thinking about you, I hope I get to see you soon. I hope you enjoy you're present, I found it and thought it would look absolutely perfect on you.

Dimitri.

She undid the brown paper, revealing a long black velvet box. "He didn't," Rose said, looking at the box.

"I think he did," she said, opening the box to reveal a necklace with gold chains and rubies and small diamonds. "Merlin's beard! I can't accept this!"

Rose looked at her like she was insane. "And why not?"

"It's too expensive," she said, looking at her friend.

Rose smirked, "Boys are always trying to buy his way into a girl's heart. Let him think that you accept it and just put it away, or actually accept it and wear it, whichever you want."

Logan shrugged, placing the box on her dresser. Today was going to be long.

A/N: I know this is long overdue but I haven't been working on it! I'm sorry! Guys, don't get mad, I hope this is OK. I'm going to try and have a Valentine's chapter out in time.
