Songs of the chapter: Thanks Mom. I really wanted to be dragged from Miami to this microscopic town in the middle of nowhere. This sucks.

"Mom did we really have to move to Texas?" I didn't mean to sound like I was complaining, but could you blame me? Going from Miami Florida,a place surrounded by beautiful beaches, amazing culture, and where everything I know is, to La Vernia Texas. A place that is unknown to most people because of it's terribly small size. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against Texas but we couldn't have moved to a bigger city?

"Yes Jessica we did. I told you my manager wanted me to move to a different banking branch and he thought my accounting skills would do Texas justice. Now suck it up and stop complaining."

I love my mom I really do but, sometimes she gets on my nerves so easily that I can't help but be a little annoyed with her. We pulled into a Wal-Mart parking lot and my mom got out and told me to wait in the car. I couldn't help but notice the cool breeze that lingered in the air. It was around the fall time and the students would soon be getting released for winter break.

A few minutes passed and I finally noticed my Mom walking back to the car. She must be meeting her co-workers today because she looked really nice.

My Mom wasn't very tall at all. she stood a mere 5' 2" with short brown hair and dark tan skin. My mom and I look Nothing alike. I'm practically the complete opposite of her. I stand at a height of 5' 8" with long blonde hair and lightly tanned skin. The one thing we had in common was our eye color. A light Hazel with specks of blue and Yellow in the center. In fact I have been told my eyes are my best trait.

"We are about 23 minutes away from the house so I suggest you get ready to unpack." my mom said cheerfully. I really hated that about her. She could make any bad situation into something cheerful. soon enough we pulled up to the house and surprisingly I was impressed. The house was fairly large in size with 2 floors and amazing plot of land for a back yard.

"Wow this is sort of amazing." I said with a tone of shock in my voice.

"I knew you would like it!" mom said matter of factly. I opened the Back of the moving truck and pulled out a box that was labeled 'Jessica"s room'. We had an interior designer come 3 months before to decorate the living room, kitchen, dining room, and bathroom. as I walked through the front door I could swear my jaw hit the floor.

"Oh my god this place looks expensive." Honestly I loved the new house a lot. I slowly walked up the stairs examining the miraculous view. When I got to the top of the stair case I saw a long hallway to my right and a door to my left.

"Hey Mom, where is my room?" I was really confused with this new house.

"Down the hall, second door on the left." She yelled from the living room. I noticed there was 5 doors on the second floor. One was the door to left of the stairs and going down the hall was the guest room and my room on the left, on the right side was my bathroom and at the end of the hall was my mom's room.

"Hey Jess bring the rest of the boxes in. I'm needed at the office. I'll be home soon." Wow our first day in town and mom is already leaving me. I never really see my mom anymore. Ever since I started High School we've both been really busy. I guess moving to a new town will keep me home more.

Once the last box was in the house I went up to my room and started to unpack my stuff. I started with my clothes because I have school tomorrow. I know I'm super lucky! I get to move to an unknown place and have to start all over again with new people. I don't even get to wait until next semester I have to go the last 2 weeks of the first semester.

I must have fallen asleep while I was unpacking because I was awaken by my Mom knocking at my door telling me to get ready for school. This should be fun.

I put on a light grey long sleeved shirt with light washed blue jeans and my brown combat boots. I curled my hair into loose curls with my wand and applied my make-up. I only wore a little bit of foundation mascara and eyeliner to look a little less manish. I grabbed my sparkly silver backpack and headed downstairs.

"Good morning love!" My mom greeted Cheerfully. she was in a very good mood and I couldn't help but smile at her beaming face. I looked over at our dining table and noticed she prepared a nice breakfast for me.

"Morning mom." I said sheepishly. "How long have you been up?" I asked tiredly.

"Well I actually got home about  an hour ago so I decided to stay up to take you to school. Unless you wanna take yourself." she said with a smirk.

"aww that's sweet of you mom I wou-" I cut myself off because it took a minute for her words to register. Unless you wanna take yourself. What is she talking about?

"Wait what?" I asked furrowing my eyebrows and looking completely confused.

"Go look outside sweetie I think you'll like it." she said laughing. I ran so fast I didn't realize that the boxes I brought in last night were still there and just happened to be in my path. I don't know how but I managed to hit and trip over every single box in the living room. and yes it hurt like hell.

Once I finally reached the door I swung it open only to reveal a brand new mustang convertible in the driveway. It was gorgeous! The black leather seats and black interior complemented the red exterior nicely. My favorite thing about the car was that it was mine. All mine I didn't have to share and I loved that.

"OH MY GOSH MOM THANK YOU!" I yelled happily practically tackling her with a hug. I was excited I finally got my own car! after 17 years I can drive myself around. The only let down was the fist place I get to drive to. My new school.
