Loud banging and clattering surrounded us, deafening us, the cold iron cube that we are confined in is moving at a speed that would be illegal on most motorways. Except, nothing is illegal anymore, not after the war. It had ended everything as we know it. The war killed everything, except for us and the mutants.

We are the test subjects. People protected from the nuclear bombing and saved as a last hope for humanity. The mutants are the people that didn't die, but got infected and became mutated. They have special powers that enable them to do things that no other person can do.

As we sit in the box we wonder, wonder what the test will consist of. Both equally as nervous as each other. We know there will be others, we don't know who. As the box continues to climb we sense something watching us. Something big, something powerful. We sit, boy and girl, together. Both feeling scared, we have known each other for years. But all of our memories are forgotten now, all we can think about is what we will face next. The testing.

As the box grinds to a halt everything goes black. Until a crack emerges in the roof and slowly widens. It reveals the light of day. And about 10 people. All looking just as scared as us.
