Sage:
I paced about the room, worried about Magnus. However much he frequently annoyed me, I still cared about him. I needed him to live. So you can imagine my relief when he clambered back out of where he had come from. He looked exhausted but there was a light of realisation in his eyes.
"What happened to you in there Magnus?" He shifted nervously.
"I learnt to see sage. I could see in the dark."
My mouth opens in an O of amazement. And then he speaks again.
"But I thought we all had to have a change?"
My mouth sits again as I think this over. Then it dawns on me and we look at each other in horror.
"That was just to see how one of us would deal with it."
My stomach plummets. There's not much I'm afraid of but dark enclosed spaces with walls shrinking around you. Well let's just say that if I had a least favourite place to die, that would be it. I look over what we have. A load of scared teenagers. One superpowerd teen who can see in the dark and me. Well at least I have badass combat boots. Somehow, I don't think that will help us very much.
Suddenly, there's a whirring noise and everyone jumps. A door slides open and three men walk out. They grab Magnus by the arms and take him out of the room. I can still hear him yelling at them from behind the door. And then the real fun begins. Just kidding. It's hell.
We look at each other and then simultaneously walk into the room Magnus had just come from. It looks completely normal apart from a dark stain across one wall that's either mud or blood. I'm rooting for mud. There's huge creak, like someone pulling a giant lever and then it all goes silent. And that's when the walls start closing in around us. There's a few screams but mostly silent panic. It doesn't help that the lights click off a moment later, plunging us into darkness. Needless to say there are a few more screams. I'm not screaming though. I'm frantically searching the walls for some kind of switch. Anything. But the walls were getting closer either side and I was running out of time. More screams. More cries. And then a voice. Tyler's I think.
"Can anyone find the switch?" A chorus of no's answered him and I could sense his desperation as the walls closed tighter and tighter. There wasn't enough room for everyone in here. We're not going to make it. The walls are pressed up against either side of me and I'm pressed against countless people. I can't breathe. I can't move. And that's when I see the light. Ok that sound really cheesy but I genuinely did. It was like when I could breath underwater. Slow at first. But then it hit breaking point and then it was like I was standing outside in the sunlight. Everyone looked the same. The walls were getting closer. And I could see the switch on the other side of the room. I would never reach it in time. The screams got louder and I feel something warm hit the back of my neck. I nearly throw up when I realise someone literally burst from the pressure. It won't be long now. My lungs struggle. My eyesight fades. And then everything stops. Time freezes and I barely breathe as the walls slide back into their original positions like nothing had ever happened. I see Tyler on the other end. His hand on the switch. There were two people not moving behind me and my heart burns for them. A door swings open behind Tyler. With a nod of thanks, I brush past him and walk outside.
