Magnus:
"We need shelter and warmth. The cold will come first and then the heat, so let's get ready, Tyler and Austin you make the fire, me and Sage will make a shelter and you two girls go and find somewhere that's got lots of shade for when it gets ho-"
"Why is it always you and Sage giving the orders?! I'm tired of listening to you, we have our own brains, let us use them." Austin had turned on me, he looked angry. A mix of tiredness and hunger, perhaps he hadn't evolved to not feel hunger? " I'm just trying to help, look we don't have time for this, let's get going." I walk towards Sage when he pushes me back "You don't get it do you? You think you know everything, well I'm not listening to you, if you were worthy of my respect you would be ready for this!" He threw a punch at me, instantly I flew into action. I have always done teakwondo, for as long as I can remember. I dodged his punch and launched a kick into the side of his chest and he fell back, winded.
"I don't want to hurt you, I just want to play my part. I want to help you!" I turned away and headed towards Tyler when I heard Sage let out a startled scream, I turned to see Austin running at her. I could feel my blood boiling and I charged at him, hitting him with a sweeping blow on the legs. He fell to the ground and I was standing over him with my fist bunched up, ready to punch. Sage grabbed my hand and pulled me back, "It's not worth it, leave him. If he tries anything else I will deal with him." She pulled me away, finally un tensing my body she let go of me. She drew in a breath as if she were to start speaking but then a cloud suddenly loomed over us and made the whole forest descend into what would have been darkness before we had adapted.
The air was chilling and I knew that the weather controller had activated, we had no fire, no shelter and no plans for shelter from the sun. No injection could make up for the change in temperature we were about to experience, we were going to die.
