The not so perfect day

Rivers pov *Saturday*

I woke up to my face time ringtone playing in my ear. I wiped the sleep from my eyes and pulled my messy hair from it's bun, thinking it could be Collin. The contact read Terri, so I picked up, slightly disappointed. "Hey lovely! are you just now waking up?" she said when she seen my distraught face. "Hey Terri, and no I was awake. Whats up?" "Well for one I get to go pick up Benson today from the hospital at 2:00! you said you would tag along, remember?" she reminded me. "Oh yeah, of course I remember! I was just getting dressed." I lied to her. "Whatever you say River. Get dressed I'll be over in 20 minutes." she said not believing a word I said. "Okay." I laughed and hung up the phone, seeing the time read 1:45. I sluggishly got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. I got undressed and hopped in the shower. I didn't stay in too long because if I was late getting ready, Terri wouldn't let me hear the end of it. I finished my shower in 8 minutes and walked to my closet picking an outfit. Too short. Too thin. Too big. Too long. ahh perfecta. I found my black 'go away' top, my dimmed white shorts and my white vans. When I finished getting my outfit on, I started to straighten my stupid shoulder length hair. Just when I finished my waffle I heard honking outside. I grabbed my phone and ran out the door yelling before closing it. "Mark i'm leaving, Call me when you miss me dork!" I then ran to Terri's car and jumped in. "Hey girl, I just love that shirt on you." she said sarcastically before driving off. "Oh thanks best friend." I laughed. "So are you excited?" I asked her. "Yes and No." she replied before pulling into Garrio's. "What? So which one are you?" "I'm happy but part of me is nervous to see him. I really don't want to see him if he's in bad condition, I would just cry my dignity out." she said parking the car. We got out heading in. "Sweetie i'm sure he'll be just fine enough for you to see him and not break down." I assure her before running into Casey. "Hey girls, how about we just go now." He said a bit rushed. "Casey whats up with you? You look like you've seen a ghost." Terri exclaimed. "Lets go pick up your boyfriend girl! Riv hey long time no see, don't reply just walk to the car. Lets go." He said pushing us out of the parlor. "Wait. What are you doing here Casey? Your coming along? ooh this'll be great. The three besties!" I say now walking on my own to the car. "Hold on Casey I have to grab my bag from the office, I left it here. Now stop acting weird." Terri said before turning back towards the parlor. "Okay but, promise you won't get mad." Casey said following behind her. I trailed behind them inside and when I seen the Queen of Bitches I understood why Casey was rushing us out. Terri looked agitated and confused at the same time. This was a look I personally didn't like to see on her. "Oh look who decided to show, guys." Lucy said to her crew of Jocks and cheerleaders. "Terri lets just go." I said quiet enough so only she would hear me. She looked at me calming down a bit and walked to the back to get her purse. When she came back she noticed that Hawk, the schools quarterback, had his feet on the table. she walked over. "Can you please take your feet off the table?" she said warning him as if he didn't do it in the next millisecond she would chop them off. He simply took his feet of the table and smirked at her. "Thank you." she said and walked towards me and Casey. "Lets go guys." she said coldly and we walked to the car. Me and Casey followed her to the car. We got in. "Are you Okay?" I asked. "Yeah." She replied. I really don't believe here but I leave her alone for the whole drive to the hospital. When we get to the hospital, I noticed Terri smiling. "Okay you guys, how do I look?" she asked adjusting her hair. "You look fine Terri." Casey said clearly upset. "Thanks. Okay lets go." We all get out the car and start walking to the entrance. "Hello, how may I assist you?" The lady at the front desk asked. "Um, I'm here to take home Benson Lakely." She spoke nervously. "What are your relations to the patient?" "He's my boyfriend." "I'm sorry mam family members only until 3. You will have to wait until 3:00 to visit him." The lady at the front desk said, smiling. "I'm family, they're with me." Conner said walking up. "Conner thank god your here." I say hugging him. "No problem, now go get my brother. He wouldn't leave with me because of you." He said pointing at Terrise. She took a deep breath and walked in the room. When the door closed behind her, everyone tensed up and tried to calm our nerves. "I hope everything's okay." Casey said under his breath. "Everything will be fine." I assured him with a hug. Not even one minute passes by when we see Ben in a wheel chair, and Terri pushing him out into the hall. "Hey buddy." Casey said walking towards Benson cautiously. "Hey guys." Ben said with a big smile on his face. I don't know why he's so happy. He nearly died not too long ago. If it were me, I'd be pretty cranky. "I'll be right back" Conner said weirdly and rushed off down the hall. "Okay guys let's go get some grub. Hopefully my dad got rid of the flock of birds in the restaurant." Terri said hinting at Lucy and her army of idiots. "There were birds in the restaurant? How'd they get in?" Benson asked. We all just laughed and left the hospital, on our way to Garrio's.
