"We've got to move now! There are two Titans heading towards us." Rico shouted.
"We can't leave Eren here, he'll be eaten alive!" I argued.
Mikasa agreed, heading towards Armin who was struggling to pull him out.
"Part of his body is still fused with the Titan, I can't get him out!"
"We'll have to cut him out then." Levi said, approaching us. Like lightning, he struck a blow that sent Armin flying back with Eren safely in his arms. The Titans bore down on us with greedy eyes. One of them stretched out a hand just as two soldiers sliced their napes cleanly. The huge bodies collapsed in front of us, and standing on them were members of the Scout Regiment, their Wings of Freedom flying in the wind. They turned around simultaneously, and the girl with orange hair asked urgently, "Captain, what's going on here?!"

I trudged through the path full of dead comrades, wondering what each of their stories were. Their faces, or the ones that still had them, were full of pain, anguish, and most of all, tears. I watched the living face the dead, their reactions, and wondered if I would be the same. I saw Jean staring at a body, and I realized it was Marco. A lady in white talked to him for awhile, and I headed over to him. We both had masks and gloves on, so our voices were a bit muffled.
"I'm not going to say it's okay." I muttered, blankly looking at Marco.
"Di-did you see how he?..." His voice was choked and I felt horrible. I gulped, not believing it was the bright and courageous Marco.
"No, I didn't. And I don't believe you would want to know how he died anyways. Much less watch how he died. I know from experience."
Jean looked at me with this anguished face, "How? How can you know?"
"My friend, Ruthie, died saving me. She was bit in half. We bunked together, so that's how we met. I had a childhood friend who was with me since we were born. He also died trying to save me and earn his first kill." I crossed my arms, slightly clutching my sleeves. I looked at the bottom of the wall in front of us. "We were planning to join the Scout Regiment. You know, he really looked up to you guys." Why am I remembering it now?
"I'm sorry." He muttered, looking back at Marco.
"Why are you apologizing? It's not your fault. They did what their hearts told them to. I'm going to continue looking for them."
"Good luck." Jean sighed, taking one last glance and then placing his hand on my shoulder before he walked away.
I continued on with my apprehensive journey. I heard two people talking, "Wall Maria fell, and now this?! What do I have left now..." Wall Maria fell? I stopped for a second and looked behind me. I shook it off, and shortly arrived at my destination. There lay my closest friends.
"Hey." I looked at their lifeless bodies, pretending everything is normal. I sat down while they were slumped against a wall. "What's it like there? Is it full of sky? Is it just sheer white?" I waited for a response, "I see. You don't want to tell me, eh? So I guess I'll just have to go there myself, in time of course." Jack's light brown hair was crusted over with dark blood, while most of Ruthie's had splattered everywhere. I stood up just as a woman in white approached me with a clipboard.
"If you know who these soldiers are, identify them for me."
I tried to make out sounds with my mouth, but it just came out in a croak, "Ru...thie Kalcher... and Ja-ck Williams. Graduates of the 104th cadet squad." I felt my eyes water over. "Dang it."
"Thank you very much for your cooperation. You may now proceed with your actions."
I suddenly heard arguing, "So, you're saying you were following orders?!" The girl that saved us hissed. They were next to a wall, ganging up on Levi who's arms and legs were crossed. He was leaning against it with his eyes closed.
I walked over, wiping away tears. "It was Erwin's speculation, I told you that already, Petra." Levi growled.
"Do you know how many good men you could've saved if you came with us?" The man that accompanied her countered. "I thought you hated worthless deaths!"
"Auruo-," He started to say before I interrupted, "Excuse me?"
They turned to face me. I felt myself blushing a little from the sudden change of attention.
"I just wanted to thank you two for saving us at the bridges." I admitted. "And for saving me, Captain Levi."
Auruo looked away with a faint blush, and Petra didn't even bother to hide it. "You're welcome. It wasn't anything special."
"Tch." Was all Levi said.
"You're all part of the Scout Regiment, right?" I pressed.
They nodded. "Hand picked for the Levi Squad all right." Auruo said shamelessly.
"Although our Captain is being a little stubborn." Petra commented harshly.
"Huh?" I asked.
"The Captain faked an illness to stay behind. According to him, the Commander ordered him to stay because he speculated an attack on Trost. And look at that, he was right. What I don't understand is why they didn't tell us."
"It was because I knew you were stupid enough to follow me." Levi chimed in.
"Tch." Auruo copied him.
"Why did you ask if we were in the Scout Regiment?" Petra inquired.
"Well, you see.. My childhood friend and I entered the cadet squad to be able to join the Scouts. So I was wondering if you would accept my early application." I looked down at my hands, pushing my index fingers together. I faintly blushed.
"Where's this friend of yours?"
"Uhm..." I squeezed my eyes shut, forcing myself to not sob uncontrollably in front of my superiors.
Petra realized she struck a nerve, "You don't need to-," I cut her off. "He's dead. He died right before my eyes. To be honest, it all feels like a dream." I broke my intertwined fingers, crossing my arms.
Auruo and Petra laughed nervously at the tension. I managed a tiny smile. To change the subject I asked an idiotic question, "I heard two people talking about Wall Maria. They said it fell. Is that true?"
They stared at me as if I was some alien. However, Levi showed no sign of shock. "That was five years ago... The word has spread literally everywhere. How do you not know?" Auruo pressed. "Where do you come from?"
It was my turn to laugh nervously, "Is it that important?"
They stared at me intently.
"I come from the underground cave located below Wall Sina." I openly admitted, holding my breath.
Levi made a tiny gasp, his eyes suddenly opening. Now, all three of them were staring at me in shock. He recovered, muttering, "Your application has been accepted. We should get going, Eren's trial is about to start."
