Chapter Sixteen

Hazel’s Point of View

 "She‘s amazing!"

 "A total performer!"

     These are just some of the compliments I‘m hearing from them. It‘s not for me but for Raiza. Yes, I admit that she‘s really incredible and I can‘t do any better on what is she doing. I think I‘m starting to let insecurities enter me.  

     I turned my gaze to Gelo who‘s busy in watching Raiza while she performs. His eyes only focuses the beauty in front of him, and again, that isn‘t me.  

 "She‘s really...great," I frowned upon hearing his compliments for Raiza.  Hindi ko alam pero, arrrgh, this is not me.

When they finished their performance, Raiza run toward her boyfriend. And because of that I finally let my breath out.   I turned to Gelo again...just to see his pained face. What was that? Was he affected?

   "Are you alright?" I tried to get his attention. Pero hindi siya sumagot.

 It seems like his world is only for that scene.  

"Babe..." This time he looked at me.

 "What?" he asked me.

   "Are you alright? Parang may problema ka," I told him.

  He smiled before shaking his head. Then he reached for my hand as we waited for the Emcee to call out our section‘s name.

Nung tinawag na kami. Mabilis kaming nag-ayos ng formation namin. Lalo akong kinabahan kasi halatang nasa gitna kami ni Gelo dahil sa maluwag na ang space di tulad kapag nagpapractice kami.

When the music started, sabay sabay kaming sumayaw. Habang sumasayaw ay naririnig namin yung mga ibang taong napapasigaw dahil sa kilig. Ako nga rin, kinikilig kapag nakikita ko si Gelo.

Lalong nagsigawan ang mga tao dun sa part na hinawakan ni Gelo ang kamay ko at sabay ilalapit ang mukha ko sa mukha niya.  Kahit nga ako, sobrang kinikilig.

Nung nasa part na itatapat ni Gelo ang kamay niya sa dibdib ko, ramdam ko ang pamumula at ganon din siya. Bakit ba naman kasi ganito.

“You cut me open…”

Pagkatapos kunin ni Gelo yung props niya ay naglakad ito palayo sa akin, ito na ang finale ng sayaw.

    Pagkatapos mag-perform ng lahat ay pinaakyat ang lahat ng representative bawat group. Dapat sina Neri at Gelo ang aakyat pero ni-request ni Neri na ako na lang daw, total ako naman yung kapartner ni Gelo sa sayaw.

     Seven sections lang kaming nandoon. At ang lahat ay sobrang galing.

Ina-announce na ang mga winners hanggang sa dalawang pairs na lang ang natira. Kami ni Gelo at sina Raiza.
