THE NEXT DAY...

Narrative
It was a beautiful Wednesday morning, birds chirping outside of the capitol, the sun rising on the horizon, clouds moving slowly towards or away from the horizon. It's a perfect start to a new day. But for Astrid, it was just a new day, nothing special, she didn't really care about what was going to happen today, she is just going to training and then back to her room to just relax. That's her usual schedule back home after she is finished with all of her duties.

Astrid
As my eyes flutter open, I started to look around the room to see that it's extremely dark, no curtains open, no noise, just how I like it. As I throw off the white blankets off me, I put my bare feet on the cold tiles and I go towards the closets which contains four pairs of the same training clothes which I will be wearing for the next four days, so I quickly get changed out of my pajamas and I put my training clothes on before putting on my shoes and socks. After I put them on I quickly put my hair into a quick braid, then I go out of the room ready for my day.

"Morning sleepy head." Effie said while sitting at the table, eating her breakfast and I sit down beside her and I start to grab some things to eat. "Morning," I mumbled before stuffing a piece of toast in my mouth.

"So what are we going to be doing today after training?" Matthew asked.

"The tributes just get to do anything they want to do." Effie said. A couple of minutes later while we eat our first meal of the day, I started to hear a moan. Haymitch was drinking again....

"Good morning princess." I said with a hint of sarcasm and I hear a growl right behind me.

"Don't you call me a princess, toots." Haymitch stated before sitting down and taking a sip of alcohol. He really is stubborn for his age.

"Whatever... having fun having a hangover?" I said, smirking as a throw a grape into my mouth and savoring the taste and he just looks at me annoyed. "You really want to be killed before the hunger games? Because if you don't, then keep your mouth shut toots." Haymitch said and Matthew interrupts him.

"Do we show off our skills to everyone?" He asked and Haymitch shakes his head.

"No, it's best if we don't," I interrupted and Matthew looks at me.

"But why?" He asked.

"Let Haymitch explain that, I am going down to the training arena early, I am full from breakfast and I am bored." I said getting up and walking towards the elevator. As I was about to press the button for the elevator, a huge announcement happens over the speakers on our floor. "Will all districts please go down to the training arena." The announcer said over the speakers and I press the button for the elevator and it comes up straight away.

"Let's go Matthew before the other districts come on." I said and he runs over to me and joins me.

"Have fun!" Effie said as the doors close and we go down. Floor by floor, the elevator piles up with tributes and the talking gets louder and louder. "Are you ready for today?" I mumbled to Matthew and he nods.

"Yeah, I am ready, but I am nervous to. I don't know what is going to happen." Matthew said and then I look forward. That is true, no one knows what is going to happen in the training arena. Fighting could happen, or even just people making alliances, or even people just thinking of what their killing order would be.
