The Hunger Games {Hiccstrid} {Completed}

Chapter 20

Astrid
"So Astrid, how far are we going to go?" Matthew asked me as the two of us continue walking deeper into the forest.

"We are going as far away as possible, so a lot of walking." I said and he groaned annoyed.

"Why do we have to go that far?" He asked and I rolled my eyes angrily.

"Because we are trying to go away as far as possible! Now keep moving!" I yelled at him and I heard a gulp come from his mouth and I continued to walk towards the forest.

"Right, sorry Astrid." He said as we continued walking. I really do wonder how Hiccup is? If he is dead? Or at least he is hiding away from the rest of the tributes for the time being. But really to be honest, I would rather be with Hiccup right now than Matthew, cause like Haymitch said, he will only slow me down as for Hiccup.

Narrative
"Astrid and Matthew are just about near the end of the arena. But about a kilometre away from a tribute." One of the game makers say to the game master and he starts to think to himself.

"I reckon you should put a tree on fire in front of Astrid. She will react very quickly." He explained and the game maker nods before inserting the tree into the arena.

As the two tributes were walking towards the edge, Astrid had noticed the flaming tree and she stopped Matthew. "MATTHEW LOOK OUT!" She screamed at the boy and the two of them stop as it hits the ground.

"Yes! Now make sure they go the other way! MORE FIRE!" He yelled and the game makers did what was said.

"What's going on!" Matthew yelled at the young girl, but Astrid wasn't paying attention to him. She was paying attention as what was in front of the two of them.

"It's a fire?!" Astrid yelled before she started to run the other way, and as soon after she started, Matthew had joined in.

"YEAH I KNOW THAT?!" He yelled, but quickly threw Astrid to the ground to see the fireball coming out of no where.

"MATTHEW WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" She screamed but to see the fireball, she had quickly gotten up again to see that the boy had disappeared out of no where. 

"MATTHEW?" She screamed as she looked around the area, but didn't notice about the other fireball coming straight at her. 

"Oh fuck!" She yelled as she did a tumble roll away from the flame, but in which case the fireball had gotten her which had left a huge burn on her left leg. "MY LEG!" She screamed as she held it. But in the distance, she hasn't noticed that Matthew was standing there, thinking to himself if he should go back to her, risking his life to save his long life crush.  

'Forget it Matthew, she will only slow you down,' He thought to himself before he ran off into another direction far away from the flames.

"That's enough for now. Just let her rest up a little." He said which had caused the flames around her to vanish. 

Astrid

While I sit here crying my eyes out from all the pain, I had continued to look around the area to see if Matthew was still around and in which case, it was a no. But the best part is, I had quickly noticed that the flames around me had vanished. But I am in a lot of pain from the burn that was left behind in the mean time of that incident. 

"Astrid!" I heard a voice from the distance. But it wasn't one that I remember. 

"Astrid!" I heard the voice again which had made me frightened. Am I going to die? Or is it my rescue? But from the sound of the voice, it sounded like they cared about me. But I think it's best if I stay quiet. 

"Astrid it's me! Hiccup!" Hiccup yelled and I looked over from the rock to see that it was him. 

"I'm over here!" I yelled, which had produced very loud running foot steps coming towards my direction. A few seconds later, at the corner of my eye I see Hiccup come over to my aid. 

"Are you okay?" He said as he bobbed down to me and I look at him with a tear rolling down my cheek. 

"Not really, I got hurt." I said pointing at my leg. 

"I think we should get you up into a tree," Hiccup said and I looked around the area to see the perfect tree which had contained two big branches which would hold Hiccup's and my weight. 

"Hiccup, is there water near by at all?" I mumbled and he shook his head. 

"No, there isn't. Why do you ask?" 

"I want to attempt to clean my wound with water." I said and he shook his head. 

"I don't think that it's a good idea." 

"I WANT TO ATTEMPT!" I screamed at him and he gulped. 

"Okay, okay." But let's get you up into the tree first." Hiccup said nervously and I punch his shoulder. 

"Okay! Let's go!" I said with a huge smile spread on my face. I am so glad that Hiccup and I are working together for a little while.
