THE NEXT DAY...

Astrid

Today was the day that we had our test for our ratings and I have been extremely nervous ever since I woke up this morning. Effie keeps talking about it to Matthew and I which has pissed me off enough. I know exactly what I am going to be doing. I am going to take both the bow and arrow and the axes in there and show them who's boss.

"Now remember what our tips were to you," Effie reminded the two of us and I just give her an annoyed eye roll.

"I know, you keep on reminding us. Can you just shut up about it just for five minutes?" I said while sitting on the couch with my arms crossed.

"Astrid! Stop being so rude and state the fact that this is the real thing that you must work with." Effie stated to me and I groan annoyed. Can she give me a break?

"You know that maybe you should leave me alone when I am pissed off like this!" I yelled at her and she gives me a death glare. No one and I mean no one messes with Astrid Hofferson, No one does...

"Astrid! Do you really want to get a low score? Especially in the Hunger Games, its torture!" She yelled at me again and I started to walk to the elevator in anger.

"I actually have a chance at winning the games, especially with my bow and arrow which I will get!" She screeched before punching the elevator button for the elevator to appear right in front of her. "Astrid! Where are, you going?!" Matthew yells as he starts to run towards the elevator.

"I am going down to the arena to be ready for the test. I don't need to listen to her stupid tips that she gives us..." I said before the elevator doors close and I start to go down towards the arena, very nervous but excited. I can finally show off my true talents and show that district 12 isn't just a dirty old place, it's showing that we have some pride in our districts. I want to show determination for my district. As the elevator speeds, down to the main floor where we must meet, I started to think to myself. How will I show myself off to the capitols best...? How will I make a difference for the game master, that's what you need to think about...?

I need to this for my district... for my sisters... for Alex...

As the elevator doors open, I started to walk into the waiting area, I noticed that I wasn't the only one in the room, that, there was another person just sitting there, looking down at the floor, having the same reaction as me. Nerves...

As I sit at the other side of the seat where that boy was, he put his head up and looked at me. It was Hiccup! B-But why would he be here so early?! I thought he wouldn't be here until later when everyone else comes!

"Morning Astrid," He said smiling widely and I smile back awkwardly.

"Hey Hiccup," I mumbled and he chuckled.

"I am guessing your still in shock because you know who I am?" He asked and I roll my eyes playfully.

"Yeah of course, I didn't know you were THE Hiccup Haddock." I stated and he chuckles.

"Sit down," He said and I sit beside him with a huge smile spread on my face. He really does know how to get a girl to smile.

"I watched you last night, you were very beautiful up there, I actually admit that," He said scratching the back of his neck and I keep smiling.

"Thank you, you weren't so bad yourself Haddock." I said punching his shoulder and he chuckles.

"Thanks... but I really am sorry about Alex a couple of years back... I actually was betting on her a bit." He said and my eyes widen. He really did that for my sister?
