Chapter 36

Narrative

After Matthew, had stopped running from the cornucopia, he had put his hand onto the tree that was beside him to catch his breath when he had started to feel extremely upset and disappointed. He had failed on killing Astrid... instead of her life being gone and crushed, it was Willow with Thresh.

"It should have been Astrid..." Matthew growled as he had looked in the direction that he was running to and he sighed.

"Willow should be here with me right now..." Matthew said to himself before tears rolled down his pale skinned cheeks.

"Willow should be here with me... not having Astrid here with that dumba##!" Matthew said before he had thrown a knife into another tree before he had heard a ruffle in the bushes and he had grabbed the sword that was on his belt before heading over to the bush.

"WHO'S THERE!" He roared before going over to the bush but to hear a familiar whimper, he had cut through the bush to see Foxface just sitting there, scared half to death when Matthew had smirked extremely widely.

"Well... I didn't think you would be here..." He said before he had pointed the knife towards her chin and she gulped.

"What? Are you scared of me or something?" He screamed at her and a couple of tears had rolled down the girl's cheeks before he had put his sword away from her chin and she sighed in relief.

"You really think I would keep your life?" Matthew whispered before he had grabbed his other sword and he had chopped his head off.

"That is how you kill someone..." Matthew said to the camera into the tree before he had punched it breaking the camera lenses and the game makers look at him in shock.

"Why is he doing that?" One of the game makers asked.

"Because he wants to kill everyone due to Willow's death..." He explained before he had started to walk towards another man.

"Is everything okay sir?"

"Yes, can you do a cannon, because you forgot, but also! I want something evil in the arena, I want to have something that represents the dead tributes..." He said and the man had continued to think.

"Why don't we use mutilated dogs?" He said and the boss smirked widely.

"Perfect! But I will tell you when to add them in..." He mumbled to him before he goes back up to his area and he had continued to watch.

"Hiccup, I heard another cannon..." Astrid said as she had sipped a bit of her water.

"I hope it was Matthew..." He said stabbing a knife into the tree.

"Hiccup... I know he was being a jerk to me, but you need to understand that after losing Willow, it would be hard for him..." She reminded him.

"Yeah, I know... but he deserves death, especially since he hurt you..." Hiccup said as he tightened up his fist.

"Hiccup... Before we go back to get the finale over and done with... I need to say something to you..." Astrid mumbled and Hiccup looked her curious.

"And what is that?"

"Well... You know before we got into the games how you helped me out with the axe, when you saved me in the games, even followed me down that big hill to find me injured and abandoned, even if I bumped into you at the start" Astrid said rubbing her arm.

"Yeah?"

"Well, I-I actually fell in love with you Hiccup..." Astrid confessed and the biggest smile spreads on the boy's face.

"I-I never thought you would say that to me... because I love you too..." Hiccup said grabbing her hand and the blonde's eyes widen.

"I-I have never thought that you would want to be with me..." Astrid whispered as Hiccup had grabbed her chin.

"I go crazy over you." He whispered before he had brushed his lips onto hers and the spark that they had felt in the cave had appeared again, but this time it had become stronger, their lips just going in the same motion, it had felt so perfect for them. A few moments later the two of them had pulled back and Hiccup had smiled like an idiot.

"I know this might be for a short time... But will you be my girlfriend?" Hiccup asked as he held both of her hands.

"Yes..." She said kissing his cheek and he smiled widely before the two of them had picked up their stuff and had started to walk towards the cornucopia.

'Thank you for telling me Rue...' Astrid thought to herself.

[And they are officially together! I am sorry if they just became together like that, but I was thinking of doing it on the last chapter. But still! It's too late now! But what do you think of Matthew's actions? Very crazy? Stupid? Or just plain awesome?
