Chapter 21

Astrid
"Astrid, are you sure you will be okay for this?" Hiccup asked me as he helped me up the tree.

"Yes, I've climbed trees for years, now hurry up before we get caught!" I said starting to stress and he nods quickly.

A couple of minutes later after the two of us went climbing on the tree, I had gotten up onto the higher branch as for Hiccup that went onto the lower branch.

"Do you think they will notice us?" Hiccup whispers and I shook my head.

"Probably not, but we have to wait and see." I whispered back, but after I whispered back, the anthem had came on, noting everyone of who has died in the arena today. I hope Matthew is dead. Because he deserves it big time!

"What are you thinking about?" Hiccup says and I sighed.

"With what Matthew did. He ditched me to-" wait a second. I smell smoke.... As I smelt the smoke, I had quickly turned my head around to see that there was a tribute near by making a fire. Like Haymitch said, she will die in a heartbeat. Let me tell you that.

But not after a moment later, the anthem had finished and I sighed. A lot of people with good skills had died today.... Rest In Peace for those who were killed....

While Hiccup and I were watching the young tribute warming up her hands with the fire, I had started to notice that the girl wasn't watching what she was doing and she thinks that she's safe. Well, she's wrong there, all she is doing is leading the Careers to her to finish her off.

And just like that, all four of them were there. I knew that Haymitch had good tips, so thank you Haymitch! I really owe you one if I win the games.

"Hiccup, stay silent." I whispered to him and the boy nods and does what he was told. But just after a moment later, there was the biggest scream that I've ever heard from someone. And just like that, the sound of a cannon was produced.

"Did you see her face! She was like 'Oh shit I'm going to die!'" I heard Cato, the boy from district 1 say as they go past slowly.

"I know! It was the best death all day!" His partner, Fliss said laughing her head off with the rest of them.

"Did she go through here?" Cato asked a random boy. And I realised who that was. It was Matthew....

"Yeah, I ditched her to die. So she's probably there bleeding to death." He said before they continued on to where Hiccup had found me and I started to clench my fist. How dare he make an alliance with those stupid Careers then come off and kill me! Like really! Who does that?!

"I can't believe he did that..... That jerk...." I mumbled and Hiccup looked up to me, looking very pissed off at him to.

"Yeah, he is a complete jerk...." Hiccup said annoyed, and I sighed sadly.

"Did you get supplies?"

"Yeah, I got a sleeping bag, a few biscuits, a water bottle and some rope." He said and I smiled. We got the same things, besides the biscuits which I didn't get.

"I got the same besides the biscuits." I said and the boy chuckled quietly.

"I would have guessed." He said and I groaned in pain.

"Do you spot any water at all? Because my burn is getting really bad!" I said while more tears rolled down my cheeks.

"No I can't see any...." He said disappointed and I sighed. I hopefully will get enough sponsors for some medicine.

"Astrid, look." Hiccup whispered and I looked up to see that there was a small parachute with something attached to it was coming over to our direction. It must be the medicine! Oh my god! Haymitch is good for something!

"Hiccup, I'm going to get it." I said as the parachute stops in the branch of the tree which was a little higher then me. So I quickly undo the rope and I climb straight for it. As I keep climbing, a smile spreads on my face to see that the parachute is for me.

As I open it up, I see that there were three little notes, but most importantly, there was medicine and some soup. As I grab the notes out, I had noticed that two were for me, and one was for Hiccup.

"Hey Hiccup, there's a note here for you." I said looking down at him and he smiles.

"You can give it to me after you get that medicine on your leg." Hiccup said before looking back at the beautiful night sky.

"Okay." I said, but I quickly look at the two noted first.

'Really impressed your still alive princess. Just make sure you stick with Hiccup and get some water soon.' -Haymitch.

'Well done there Hofferson! You really have impressed with me with staying with my son Hiccup. Just please make sure you won't kill him before the games are over." -Stoick

As I read the two notes, a smile spreads on my face. I'm so glad that I got medicine, and I'm surprised I got a note from Hiccups father. Did he help me with Haymitch to get the medicine?

After I put the notes down, I had put the medicine on my leg and I sighed happily to feel relief.

"Thank you." I whispered towards one of the cameras, before going back down to my branch and I give Hiccup the parachute for his supplies and I had closed my eyes for the night. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
