The Hunger Games {Hiccstrid} {Completed}

Chapter 27

Astrid

While I was walking back to where I was meeting back with Rue and Hiccup, I had noticed that there were Mocking Jay's trying to get my attention and I recognised that four note sound. It was Rue's call! Is Hiccup and Rue in trouble? Or did someone die? I need to find out!

As I looked around the trees, I notice that there was one blue looking at me and I did the four note whistle that Rue had taught me and it went off as well, sending the rest of the Mocking Jay's to go off and it had made me smile. The sound is so beautiful.

But as I start to jog towards the replying Mocking Jay's I had heard screams of my name and I had ran over to the voice which had gotten louder and louder and eventually I see Rue in a trap.

"Astrid!" She screamed as I ran over to one of the corners.

"Astrid!" She said again struggling ad I had quickly cut the rope on the trap.

"It's okay," I said as I get the net off her and she quickly hugged me as like I am a teddy bear.

"Everything is going to be alright." I said and I heard her cry into my shoulder a little and I had kept hugging her tighter.

"Astrid!" She screamed and I had turned around to see that there was a career standing there with the biggest smirk spreading on his face. Before I had grabbed my bow and an arrow, I saw that he had a weapon in his right hand and that he positioned it to throw it towards us, so I had quickly aimed the arrow at his chest before he had thrown it towards our direction.

But after he had thrown it, I had let the arrow fly into the air and straight into his chest, but he had quickly fallen to the ground without any hesitation which had caused me to smile. I actually killed the boy from district 1! I just killed him!

"Rue did you..." As I had turned around to face Rue, my eyes had widened to see that the weapon the boy used, went straight through her stomach.

"Rue..." I mumbled as she took the spear out of her stomach and she had fallen from the ground straight into my direction and I had caught her into my arms. I can't believe this is happening... One of my only friends is going to die because of me... This is all my fault...

As I had quickly put Rue onto the ground, I had quickly opened her jacket to see how bad the wound is and a tear had rolled down my cheek. "It's okay... It's okay..." I mumbled as I had quickly looked through the area, then back to Rue to see that she had tears rolling down her cheeks.

"It looks fine..." I mumbled to her and she kept whimpering from the pain.

"Did you blow up the food?" She whispered. 

"Every bit of it." 

"Good..." She mumbled., but a few moments later, she had looked up at me again. 

"C-Could you please sing for me..." She whispered.

"Yeah, okay..." I whispered before I had thought of a song that would be useful in these types of situations until I think of one.

"Deep in the meadow, 

under the willow

A bed of grass,

a soft green pillow

Lay down your head, 

and close your eyes." I sung quietly as Rue had passed on quietly and tears had rolled down my cheeks.

"I-I'm so sorry..." I said as I slowly zipped up her jacket before I went to her side to see her beautiful green eyes open.

"This is all my fault..." I said as I continued to cry, but I had quickly gone to her head and I had closed her eyelids with my hand.

"I-I should have saved you..." I mumbled as I had kissed her forehead, before looking at the weapon that the boy had and I had quickly grabbed it before throwing it into his dead corps and I had cried into her torso.

Flashback

"Astrid..." Elsa mumbled as she had grabbed my hand while the two of us were watching Alex's death.

"S-She's gone..." I mumbled to myself, but I had looked back to see my parent's hugging each other as tears had rolled down their cheeks.

"She served us well... she was in the top 5... that's impossible for 12..." Elsa whispered to me and I had put a bit of my fringe back into my hair when I see the sunset hit 5pm, I had decided to do one last thing for her...

"I want to do one last thing for her..." I mumbled to Elsa before I had cleared my throat and I had done her Mocking Jay song, letting everyone know that it's time to finish work and the whole district stop and look over to me.

As they look at me, I had tears rolling down my cheeks before I had put my three fingers together in my left hand and I had kissed them before putting them up in the air, saying one last thanks to her. She really did a wonderful thing... to serve district 12 proud, For our family...

END FLASHBACK

I don't know anymore.... I had gotten her killed... it should be me dead right now... 

As I had gotten up from her torso, I had looked around the area to see that there were flowers nearby and I had gotten up from the ground and I had headed into that direction with my knife in my hand. Once I got there, I had started to cut the flowers out of the ground and not long after I had grabbed a big amount of flowers, but I had quickly walked back to Rue's corps and I started to put flowers around her. 

After I had put the flowers around her, I quickly got the last of the flowers and I had put them between Rue's hands, before I kissed her forehead and I had looked up with a death glare to the camera, then I had gotten up fully on my feet and I had started to walk away from Rue's dead corps until I decided to do an old tradition I did 2 years ago back home. 

So I had quickly stopped in my tracks while I was looking around the area to see where a camera was, until I spotted one in the tree and I had put on my serious face before putting my three fingers to my lips and I had put my hand in the air, saying thank you to district 11 and telling them that she had served well, but as I had started to walk away deeper into the forest, I hadn't of known that in district 11 that they was a ruckus happening.
