Chapter 3

It was Friday and I hadn't seen Tom and his friends yet. Maybe they were bluffing. I waited on top of the monkey bars, ready to spot Alice as soon as I saw her and leave to go to her house. I didn't want to take any chances of having Alice get hurt.

I thought about the odd dream last night it was somewhat like a nightmare, but I was the monster. People were all around me in a bright white room and there was blood everywhere. There were arms coming out of my back, invisible to everyone, but me. Then they transformed into bright white wings tipped with blood. I flew through the sky with my wings with a feeling of power.

As scary as the dream was it didn't bother me at all. Personally, I thought it was a pleasant dream. The dream made me feel more energized, odd as it was.

     "Circe!" Alice called.

"Alice! Where is your mom?" I asked.

"She had to work overtime so in a hour she will pick us up." my eyes widened. Oh God, I have to protect her.

I stared at her, it was the first time I had ever noticed her features. She was short and she had curly black hair, bright blue eyes, a pale complexion, and had a big smile on her face.

"Well let's play!" I said trying to act normal, even though I had a bad feeling something bad was going to happen.

     "Tag?" she said.

"Nah, how about a different game," a voice said from behind me.

I swirled around meeting Tom's gaze. "No Tom, you stay away," I said.

"What game?" Alice asked him. Clearly, she had never met him or could not see the tension between Tom and I.

"The 30 Second Game," Liam menacingly said.

     "Alice run!" I told her.

     "Why?" she asked, obviously confused.

"Gage and Peter grab Circe," Tom commanded.

"We are going to hold you off," Gage sinisterly whispered. I did my best to break free, but I was too weak.

"So Alice, do you like Circe?" Liam asked her casually.

"Of course! She is super nice and I love her hair color!" she enthusiastically replied.

"Don't you think she's a freak?" Liam asked.

"No, of course not. She is nice." I could see Alice was wondering about all the questions they were asking. I was so drawn in to the conversation that I had forgotten I was being held.

When Alice answered Tom had an irritated expression on is face. What was he going to do? Tom slapped her across the face. "Ow! What was that for?" Alice asked. Liam pushed her down and started to punch her as hard as he could.

"Stop... please... I... did... nothing!" Alice said in-between punches.

"This has been longer than 30 seconds!" I yelled.

Liam stopped and looked at me. "This is way to fun!" he held up his bloody fists. What was wrong with these twisted people?

Now Alice was crying. I heard a bone snap. My eyes widened. Alice. They made sure I saw her bloody and bruised body. She was struggling to breathe. She had blood all over her face. Oh my God. These monsters!

"Why did this happen? I did nothing to any of you," Alice whimpered. I started to cry. This was not happening.

"You monsters!" I screamed. I felt a power surge through me. My anger rose and I felt my dream coming to me and it was a strong feeling. "You’re going to die!" I yelled at them. I looked behind me and I cut Gage and Peter's head off with my arms from my dream. Garrett and Peter slowly fell and let me go.
