Chapter 8

I opened my eyes in a panic. I was sweating under the head cover

and the chains and sheet. The feeling was extremely uncomfortable. My

head hurt and I struggled to remember my dream. I groaned.

I felt exhausted even though I was asleep for couple hours. I

tried to move a little but all of my movement was restrained.

Realizing it was hopeless I just sat and waited. Maybe someone will

explain.

"Circe!" a familiar voice called.

Aphrodite!

"Thank God you are okay!" her voice sounded relieved.

"What happened to me?" I asked her.

"That's not important at the moment!" she whispered.

"Why? I think it is, especially since I am chained up."

She sighed, "Fine but, I am going to tell you quickly. First off

you killed more workers. Second, I escaped from my cell. I had to see

you. Well, actually I had to tell you. They are going to send Hina to

kill you." Aphrodite whisper-shouted.

I sucked in a breath.

"We can escape! Right now!"

"I am chained. I can't move."

"Use your arms! Come on!"

"I can't remember! Please! Escape without me. You will be safer,

just leave me." I told her bravely. My voice was shaking.

I heard her cry, "I don't want to. You are going to die."

"I won't! Leave now!" I heard footsteps.

"Please, stay safe." Her footsteps faded in the background.

My eyes were getting soaked. I couldn't cry. Aphrodite will be

safe. She must live no matter what. Even if I die...

"Is that her?" I heard an innocent, childlike voice say.

"Yes, how about you introduce yourself." Damien's voice said kindly.

"Hello! I am Hina. And I am here to kill you." Hina said brightly.

I didn't respond. I couldn't, I had to be a wimp and not defy her.

"Introduce yourself Mutant." Damien said. I swallowed. I started

to get a pounding headache. I tried to shake it off, but it kept up. I

felt like my mind was trying to remember something.

"Fine," I was surprised to hear my voice, "I am Circe. And Hina,

you will never be True Queen." What the hell did I just say?

"How did you know?" she screamed. A hint of shock was underlying,

I still was as shocked as she was to hear those words. They seemed to

hit a weak point.

"I don't. How old are you?" I asked calmly.

"You do know! You do! You do! You do!" Hina seemed to be throwing a fit.

"Just kill her Hina." Damien told her.
