{ Dinner at Ellen's }

Patrick's POV

Recap

I still have about 15 minutes until I have to be at Ellen's house. I decided that I would go to the store real quick to get Ellen a single red rose.

When I get back, I am right on time. I walk to Ellen's door and knock with the rose in my other hand.

She opens the door and I see her eyes are puffy and she obviously has been crying...

I walk inside her house and immediately open my arms and ask her what is wrong. She starts crying again and mumbling words that I can't understand.

"Ellen honey what was that? I'm sorry I can't hear you because of your cute little sniffles."

She laughs a little and then says

"W-well I'm a-afraid" she says

"Why El? Why are you afraid?"

"Remember how I t-told you about my ex h-husband? Chris?"

"Yes?" I say clenching my fists

"He has t-threatened me t-that if I don't get b-back together with him t-that he w-would kill you." She says and starts balling her eyes out again

"Oh Ellie sweetheart don't you worry about me. I won't let him do anything to you or us." I say and give her a reassuring squeeze in our very long safe hug.

"O-okay" she says

She wipes her tears away and then she says

"Okay let's not focus on that. Let's enjoy our time together and eat dinner."

"Sounds perfect"

Ellen's POV

I can't believe that I had the courage to tell him. I don't want to put him at risk. At all. I'm in love with him and I can't loose him.

After I am done telling him the whole story, he says

"Oh Ellie sweetheart don't you worry about me. I won't let him do anything to you or us." He says and gives me a reassuring squeeze in our very long safe hug.

"O-okay" I say gratefully

I wipes her tears away and then I say

"Okay let's not focus on that. Let's enjoy our time together and eat dinner."

"Sounds perfect" he replies back with a smile.

"I thought we could order pizza and watch a movie. Or if you don't want to we cou-" I am interrupted with the sound of Patrick's voice

"Ellen we could do that. It sounds amazing."

"Okay" I say with a little giggle

"I will call the pizza place for delivery. I will be just a second." I add

"Okay that's fine El." He says

I go over to the couch and get my phone and dial the number for my favorite pizza place Papa Johns. When they answer the phone and order a small pepperoni pizza and cheesy bread sticks and tell them my address. They said that it would be ready in 15 minutes and then they say bye. I hang up the phone and walk over to Patrick who is sitting on the couch.

"They said that it would be ready in 15 minutes." I say to him

"Okay in the meantime let's start the movie." He says

"Okay which one would you like to watch?"

"Ummm... let's watch Silver Linings Playbook." He says with a smile

"Yay I love that movie and J-Law!" I reply with a giggle

Patrick puts in the movie and presses start. We sit next to each other not to far but not to close. About ten minutes later, I feel Patrick grab my hand. He intertwines my hand with his own and I have the biggest smile on my face. I look over at him and I see that he is staring at me. We both lean in for a kiss at the same time and then I hear the door bell ring...

We both immediately pull away from one another and Patrick goes to get the door. He comes back with the pizza and breadsticks and we eat everything. We don't say much because of that awkward moment that we just shared but if I'm being 100% honest, I really REALLY wanted him to kiss me.

Oh well, if it was meant to be, it would have happened...
