Patrick's POV

I continue to sit in the waiting room waiting to hear the outcome of Ellen's surgery.

A couple of hours later

I stare blankly at the wall in front of me. I wait for Ellen's doctor for what feels like days when in reality is only a couple of hours. When I see the doctors come out into the waiting room to where I am sitting, I stand up and immediately ask

"How is she? Is she okay? Is she alive?"

"She is alive and her surgery went well. We need to keep her for a couple nights to make sure that she is okay. She should be good to go and out of the hospital in about a week or so." The main attending doctor says

"Thank you guys so so much for saving the love of my life." I say to the doctors. I also ask

"When can I see her?"

The doctor informed me that they were still finishing her labs and taking tests on her so I couldn't see her for another hour. I said okay and sat down back in the same chair that I was sitting in before waiting again to see the love of my life alive.

An hour later

After sitting for another hour, imagining the life that I will have with Ellen after she is healed, the doctor comes back. I stand up and he says that he will direct me to her room. I say okay and we walk the short distance to Ellen's room.

I open the door slowly trying not to make any noise invade Ellen is sleeping. I look in and see her, lying down on the hospital bed sleeping. She looks helpless and I hate to see her like this. It breaks my heart.

I walk into the room slowly and sit down beside her. I pick up her hand and hold it gently. I let a couple tears fall out of my eyes while I sit by her and rub her hand. I don't say anything because she needs her sleep and I don't want to wake her.

I sit for a couple minutes and right when I let go of her hand and get up to go to the bathroom, I hear the heart monitor go crazy and she starts to crash...
