Chapter Seventeen

Harry's POV

In my opinion Gloria is doing much better.

Louis, Zayn and I see her smile more often and she's as loud as before. Just like Louis. They're actually pretty much alike. Anyway, since that day Gloria came into our room and cuddled with me, I feel much better and I'm not that worried about her anymore. Gloria told me that even if she's no longer with us, she'll still be with me forever. I feel like I'm able to breathe again.

Louis and I are on our way back to Gloria's house right now. She asked us to get her some more painkillers and dinner for later. She's got a really bad headache again and got a stomach hurt. Probably from being almost nine months pregnant. The shopping center is only a couple of minutes away from the house so Louis and I decided to walk. The weather is very nice (like always) so we don't mind at all. Before we started on our way back, we got ourselves some ice cream and ate it in a nice little park.

We're almost back at the house. It's at the end of the street on the corner. The sun appears from behind the beautiful, little house we got to stay in for so long already. The sun feels so nice and warm that I almost find it a pity to go inside again.

We walk down the front yard, but before I set foot on the porch a weird accent calls for us both the wait.

I see Louis turn around in the corner of my eye before I do so too. A blond lad runs up to us. He's breathing heavily as he stops in front of us. He bends and rests his hands on his knees. Louis and I share a glance while we wait for the stranger to speak.

Once the lad's breathing is back to normal, he stands up straight and looks at me. He's taking in the sight of me and does the same with Louis. It's all rather strange to me, but I give the boy the time to look at us.

"I just took two cabs and ran about three miles to get to you. I need to warn you" the blond speaks. He pushes his hair up and his blue eyes fill with worry. "Do you guys know Jack?"

My breath hitches in my throat at his last words and I feel my stomach drop. I can't move or speak.

Jack.

I hadn't heard that name in so long.

"Y-yes" I hear Louis say. He must've noticed I'm not able to function at the moment.

"Okay, well... I'll just drop it on you than" the stranger says with a sigh. I wipe the sweat from my hands on my jeans. "I-I'm Niall. I delivered a pizza at a house quite a few months ago. I assume that house is yours. When I came there that night, the house was wrecked and I found a man, Jack. He was furious and he scared me. He kept on talking about two boys and he called the police with my phone"

Niall doesn't even take a break to breathe. He looks at us now and then but mostly focuses on his feet as he speaks. I just stand here. I can't believe this Niall-boy met Jack.

"I felt something was wrong so I followed him. I have been following him since. There was this morning when he lost it at the police station. The police couldn't trace your phones, but they told Jack that an old lady called because she claimed she saw you once in a cafe"

"Bitch did call" I hear Louis mutter.

"They've got the address of that cafe. When I got there this morning, I asked around for you and multiple people knew who you were and where you live. That's how I found you. But if I can find you, I know jack will too and he'll be here soon"

I watch Niall in disbelieve. How could this happen? That fucking lady did call the police after all. I'm sorry for my swearing, but I'm pissed off right now. How could she? Jack will come here. He's got us. He wins...
