Kelsey POV
I watched as the car pulled into the drive way. Mother and father had stayed on their phone the whole way home. I was the first to get out of the car and make my way to the front door. The chilly November air pierced my skin as I waited for my parents.
"You would think since we had a driver we would have a maid." I said as my dad unlocked the door. Mom gave me a look that would possibly kill me if it could. Dad turned on the lights and I walked up stairs to my room taking my shoes off and kicking them into the closet. I laid on my bed, picking up the tv remote and clicking the Netflix button. It had been a while since I watched Netflix so I was kind of excited. Scrolling though movie options I landed on my favorite Disney movie and played it. Laughing at jokes and crying when it got sad, I had felt like the teenager I was before I met Dean.
My door opened to revel my moms head barley poking through.
"You have room for company?" She questioned and I shook my head no at her.
"Well that's rude." My head snapped to the voice that didn't belong to my mother.
"Koda!" I laughed leaning up from my laying position. She hugged me before sitting beside me kicking her shoes off. My mother had left my room, closing the door behind her, without a sound.
"Did you see Dean's bimbo?" She started grabbing my hand. "She's is such a freaking-"
"Koda!" I cut her off and she gave me a sheepish grin.
"What?" She threw her arms up and question as if she had done nothing wrong.
"Tell me what happened after I left." I asked her and she nodded her head.
"When you first left, Dean was a little crazy. He would talk to me a lot about where you were or if you were okay. All I knew was that you went to your dads parents and you would start school there. I assumed you were fine since they were the only grandparents you knew. After a while he quit calling me and then next time I saw him he was with that brunette girl." She finished and I nodded my head.
"Amanda." I told her and her face looked puzzled.
"What?" She question and I looked at her with a duh face as I replied, "his girlfriend. Her name is Amanda." I told her and her face let on that she understood.
We spent the next two or three hours just catching up with each other and her catching up with the baby.
"What's the gender?" She asked me excitingly like a child on Christmas.
"I don't know." I told her and she gave me a disbelieving face. "It's true. I didn't want to find out without the father." I told her and her nodded her head.
"My parents know that. Not too happy about it but they said they would think about it. I'm seventeen so what's the worse that could happen? Dean actually get involved?" I rolled my eyes thinking about my parents.
"What about Amanda? Think she knows?" Koda asked which caused me to shake my head no.
"She had no idea who I was tonight. In fact she didn't even know I was pregnant still I stood up." Kodas eyes widened as I told her what had happened. I told her all about the nursery and the gifts inside he cribs which made Koda swear he was a player.
"I had time to think while I was away." I told my best friend as we watched an episode of Lost on Netflix.
"About what?" She faced me, propping her head on her hand.
"Maybe I don't want Dean around the baby." I told her, facing her I saw her reaction of shock.
"Why?" Her curious voice spoke.
"Because I mean look at him. He will be a great father, I know that. But what if Amanda is this girl he's been looking for? She's older, his age. She has a career and she's good looking. Oh my is she good looking." I looked at Koda whose face as blank as I talked about Amanda. "What? She's skinny!" I defended myself as she laughed.
"Yeah but you have something over her." She said wiggling her eyebrows.
"What?" I asked her and she laughed even more before getting a serious tone.
"You're his baby momma."
Dean's POV--
I came in from my run and walking in the living room.
"Remind me again why we have dinner parties." I asked Amanda pulling her into my embrace as I sat on the couch. Amanda had been living here for three months and she had already redecorated my spare room into a small living area for guest. She left my basement alone saying it was mine to have.
"Because you love your firm." She said placing a hand on my chest.
"I guess." I told her and never got a response. We sat in silence and eventually she placed her head on my chest. I enjoyed the quiet as I rubbed circles on Amanda's back.
"It's so sad you know!" She said popping up and sitting up straight.
"What's so sad?" I asked her putting my hand on my temple.
"Kelsey." My eyes looked her when she spoke Kelsey name and Amanda's eyes were already on me. "She's so young and it's gone. I mean she could recover maybe if she worked hard but she seems unmotivated and I feel so bad for her. She won't be able to support the baby." I listened to Amanda give her spill.
"The baby's father will be involved." I said standing up then holding my hands out to Amanda. "Let's go to bed." I told her walking up the stairs and I could hear her heels behind me. Reaching my bedroom I fell down onto my bed waiting to feel Amanda body lay beside me but it never came. Instead her voice did.
"Why is this room locked?" She asked starring at the door that led to the nursery.
"It just is." I told her climbing under the covers. Looking at her I saw she was still in her evening gown and jewelry and I mentally groaned to myself. It would take her a lifetime to get ready for bed. I brushed it off and closed my eyes hoping to get a little sleep but anytime I was close my mind would move towards Kelsey and our baby.
I woke up early next morning at my usual time. Looking over I saw Amanda still asleep and I decided not to wake her. I got ready at my normal pace and picked out a suit and tie for the day. I jogged down stairs to my office and started packing up my work I had done. It all had to be put in the system by this afternoon for my father to review. I clicked through each file making sure it transferred to my computer at work and after twenty minutes of searching, I had sent every file to myself.
I drove to work singing to the radio every now and then. My fingers tapped on the steering wheel to the beat. I nodded my head and in the corner of my eye saw my phone ringing. I cut down the radio before picking it up.
"Dean Blake." I said firming into my phone and I instantly knew the voice on the other end.
"Mr.Blake, do you have the Archie case?" Marlow spoke on the other end of the phone.
"Yeah, I'm gonna check the emails. I sent it to myself this morning but I'll forward it to you." I told her while unlocking my phone and clicking my mail app.
"Yeah, hold on Marlow it should be right here." I said scrolling down through my sent messages. Seeing I had hit last week emails I scrolled up to today's date and slowly went through each of them. "Marlow, its right here. I'm about to send it to-" my words were cut off by the sound of a car horn which caused me to look up. My eyes grew wide as I tried to swerve to the left but I realized it was too late.
My eyes fluttered as I heard a voice and I looked over to see my phone still on.
"Mr.Blake.....Mr.Blake are you okay?" Was all I heard before I closed my eyes, no longer allowed to hold them open by myself.
