Dean's POV

It had been three weeks and four days since we had brought Brianna home from the hospital. Everything was perfect to start. I stayed at Kelsey's house, helped out, and did everything I could to take stress off of Kelsey, especially since she had a C-Section. Like I said, it was great. 'Was' is the key word in this statement. After the first week Kelsey quit trying. She started staying in her room more often than Brianna's and even had me take her to my house for a couple of nights, which she swore she would never do.

I only stayed for three hours before deciding raising a child was a two person job and by the time I got to Kelsey's house she was asleep. When she woke up the next day she had nothing to do with Brianna. She just sat there watching me take care of her. Occasionally her mom would come in and say something but nothing other than that Brianna needed to be held by both of us. Kelsey shook it off.

A week had gone by and everyday I watched Kelsey loose interest in Brianna. She would go down stairs and eat or take a long shower but not check on Brianna.

It wasn't until Thursday when Koda finally came over and saw what was going on, upon my request. So now we sat in the doctors office for what we told Kelsey was Brianna's checkup but she had already had that, which she missed. In fact, she didn't even notice we were not at Brianna's doctor. We were here for her own.

"Well, it's obvious. Kelsey has postpartum depression. Cases happen all then time." The doctor had told me and I looked at Kelsey who stared out the window.

"She doesn't even want to look at Brianna." I explained and he nodded his head.

"Kelsey is very young. She will bounce back fast but his happens to most mothers who aren't ready or other reasons." He continued and I listened closely. He decided medically Kelsey couldn't be help and just to keep Brianna with her and she'll come around so that's what we were currently doing.

Within a week Kelsey showed a little improvement. Kelsey had missed the one month celebrations we had for Brianna but none of us pushed her. She had woken up this morning better than usual. She talked to us and even helped a little with Brianna. She changed a diaper and fixed a bottle. It that was it.

"How is she?" Kelsey asked me as I sat in the rocker, going back and fourth, trying to get Brianna to fall asleep. Brianna was not much of a crier.

"She's good. She just doesn't want to fall asleep." I told her and I noticed she was looking at Brianna. I took that moment to try to get her to hold her.

"Remember in the hospital when you first saw her eyes?" I asked and she nodded her head. "Those beautiful brown eyes are gone." I told her and her head snapped to me. "Come look." I told her and she did. She walked across the room and looked down at Brianna who stared wide eyed back at her mother.

"Blue, with a hint of green." She said never looking away from Brianna.

"She's got your eyes now. Doctors said it was normal and would probably stay like this." I informed her what the doctor had said when I took her for shots.

"I always hoped you would have your daddy's eyes." I watched as she told Brianna.

"Hey can you hold her while I run down stairs real quick?" I asked her and she leaned up. Her eyes looked like they were wishing for Brianna while her head shook no.

"I, I don't know." She said and I stood up hold Brianna close.

"Here sit down. I'll be right back." I told her and she did. I put Brianna in her arms and watched as she held our little girl.

She looked a little awkward but what did I expect really? I quickly walked out of the room and downstairs where I found Mr. And Mrs. Jay at the table each doing some kind of work.

"Where's Brianna? Already asleep?" Marlowe asked and I shook my head no.

"No, Kelsey is rocking her." I said grabbing a glass and putting some tea in it.

"Did you say Kelsey?" Mr. Jay asked looking up from his work.

"Yes, she seemed interested so I let her hold Brianna." I said before talking a gulp of my tea.

" I want to see this." Marlowe said as she left the room and I followed.

We quietly tip toed down the hall way and into Kelsey's room so we could get into Brianna's room. Why Brianna had to have that room in the house I'm not sure but she did. We watched in awe as Kelsey talked and coped at Brianna.

"You are just so cute." She said while she stood up and walked to the crib where she placed a sleeping Brianna down. "You guys don't have to stand at the door way, I hope you know that." She said with her back towards us and I looked to Marlowe to took a step out and into Brianna's nursery. I followed and walked up beside Kelsey who wrapped her arm around me, hugging me close. "Thank you." She said and I kissed the top of her head.

After today, everything went smoothly. The next two weeks Kelsey had stayed with Brianna a lot and even learning all the little things about her. She left the house everyday, taking Brianna somewhere. We usually go to the park or maybe to get ice cream.

"It's great. Everything's great." Kelsey said as we sat down on the couch at my house. Kelsey had even been staying over here lately, even with Amanda and Dylan here. Dylan was all excited for the new baby. He helped Kelsey out whenever Amanda wasn't around.

"I know it is." I said scrolling through the movie list and only turned my head to the sound of the door opening.

"We are back." Amanda said coming into the room and looking at me with a smile. Bags lined her arms while Dylan held two. "We went shopping at the cutest little place." Amanda said coming in front of me. Dylan sat in the floor putting together a new toy he had gotten and the other bag was full of things to go along with it. Amanda pulled work shirts and ties out for me as if I didn't already have a million and then she looked towards Kelsey.

"I saw these today and thought of you." She said handing three of her bags over to Kelsey who took them and looked at Amanda.

"Thank you." Kelsey smiled falsely and Amanda rolled her eyes.

"Just open them." She said so Kelsey did just that.
