Mom and Dad

I watched as Dean held the pregnancy test in his hands. He stood in front of me yet never took his eyes off the positive sign. 

"Dean?" I asked in a whispered tone to him which seemed to catch his attention. His eyes caught mine and in a second.

 "I'm scared." I told him truthfully and his arms wrapped around me.

 "Me too." He responded while rubbing my back. I held onto him tightly and cried into his chest softly. I knew if I was loud my mother would hear me and this was not the site I wanted her to see. I pulled away looking at him and wiping away my tears. 

"I have to tell my mom. I won't tell her who, in fact if you want you can leave. But I have to tell her." I told him and he looked a little hurt.

 "I don't want to leave that's my child to but I don't want her knowing it's me. Not until after you turn 17." He told me grabbing my hand with his free one.

We talked through about what I would tell my mom when we got home, yet as I sat in the car and that time inched closer and closer to me I became more scared. Pulling into our drive way, my mother had cut the car off and got out walking to the door where I followed behind. Before she could unlock the door or swim open to reveal a man on the other side. 

Dad. 

My moms arms wrapped around his neck as she hugged him. They stood there a while as I watched. They were the most in love couple I had ever seen and even when I was little I wanted that. Dad let go go of and streetcars his arms out to me. I took the hug, wrapping my arms around my dad.

We are all set in the living room for a while until Mom started cooking dinner.Dad and I decided that we would each go to our rooms and get ready for dinner instead of wearing our work clothes. It wasn't long before I heard Mom yell up that dinner was ready and dad running down the hall. 

I open my door quickly and took off after him and downstairs. He was always like that, he was always the fun one. Mom really didn't know how to cut loose when I was growing up and she was always over protective of me while anything went with dad.

Running to the table, I saw dad already there so I slowed down.

 "Hey champ, what took you so long?" He asked, out of breath, as if he had been long. 

I smiled at him putting my hands on my hips, "decided to stop for gas a while back." I made a joke cause mom to laugh. Hearing mom laugh was not something you would hear everyday, only the days that dad were home. Sometimes she would be sad even if my dad was home so it was somehow okay because he was here. Plates appeared before my dad and then myself before mom got her own plate and sat down.

 "How was y'all's day?" My father asked cutting into his chicken while looking between my mother and me. She finally spoke up talking about her day and everything that Mr. Blake had planned for the next week and how our office was going to be super busy. She told him about me getting a 'intern ' with the younger Mr. Blake, Dean. That's with the attention had turned on me.

 "What's it like working for him" my dad had asked me and I shrug my shoulders. 

"I just file his paperwork." I told him which made him laugh and mom smiled at me. She told my dad about how proud she was of me taking responsibility and getting a job on my own. They smiled and talked about it more, leaving me to my thoughts. Tonight was the night that I was supposed to tell mom about me being pregnant, or at least I thought I was, according to one test. Dad was home, something I didn't expect. I finally decided that I should tell him over dinner to just hurry up and get it over with. 

"Um..guys?" I looked at my parents and asked in a questioning tone and they both looked at me. Their attention to me and I knew that I had the floor and that they weren't going to interrupt me, it's how things work. "I really don't want you guys to freak out", I started my sentence,grabbing my moms attention even more, " I was seeing someone a month or so back." I quietly told them while looking down and then back up at them.
