You know that black void between sleep and being awake? It's like you want to wake up but you can't. You can't force yourself to open your eyes no matter how hard you try. Yeah, that's where I am. I'm in my own head and I can't wake up. I've been trying for what seems like forever. I only remember falling and then I was here.

Falling.

I fell putting Brianna's stuff up in the closet. It all started making since and then the fear hit me. Was Brianna hurt? Was she okay? Where was I? Was I still on the nursery floor? These were the questions that kept circling in my thought. Surely mom had come home and found me, right? My mind fluttered back to Brianna. I couldn't help but to think something was wrong. I'd be able to feel her right?

If you can black out while aready being blacked out, I did it. It was quiet in my thoughts but now it seemed as if I was awake in my mind. I heard things around me, small mutters, almost sounding like whispers, foot steps, beeping sounds on rhythm.

Beep..... Beep.... Beep....

That sounds let me know I was in a hospital. Someone did find me and suddenly all the noises made sense, well almost all.

 Crying. There was crying.

Not from an adult, it didn't sound as if a love one had been told the other had died or was no longer responsive. It was a baby.

 A soft sweet cry.

 Brianna.

I could tell it was her.

I fought to open my eyes as hard as I could a a small crack of light hit my eyes and suddenly more light came as my eyes fully opened revealing what I thought was true. I was in the hospital. There stood my mom and Koda looking at me. Koda's smile was across her face. Looking around I saw my dad in a chair. There was no computer that occupied his lap or a phone that his hands fiddled with. His eyes had bags under them, he was tired. Dad had flown in from Michigan.

Everyone was here.

The soft cry that had woken me up cried out again and my head snapped to the direction. There sat Dean in a rocker holding a swaddle of pink and white blanket that I recognized. The welcome blanket mom bought for Brianna.

"Dean." I managed to call out and his head came up to where his eyes met mine. His smile had only grown bigger and he looked back at Brianna before standing up and walking towards me.

"Ready to meet your mommy?" Dean asked the infant whose face I had yet to see. A lump in my throats formed and I watched his every move. He slowly lowered our baby placing her in my arms and there I saw her face for the first time. I suddenly fell in love in a whole other way. Everything else around me seemed blurred compared to the life I had holding in my hands. She was asleep but I could tell she had my eyes. She was so tiny and my heart was so complete.

Being so caught up in my daughter I didn't even notice when Dean crawled up beside me but now here he was beside me, marveling at our daughter together.

"She's so beautiful." I spoke to anyone who listened.

"She looks just like you." Dean said before kissing my head. I hadn't even noticed the camera flashes until now. Mom had been taking pictures the whole time.

"Six pounds, two ounces. Born December twenty fifth at five pm." Dean whispered to me and I looked at him.

"Thank you." I said smiling at him. I looked around and found a board on the wall. December twenty-sixth was written on the board.

"I was out that long?" I asked my mother who nodded.

"They did an emergency C-Section as soon as you got here and the medicine kept you asleep because you took a pretty bad fall." She said looking at me with one eye brow up as if waiting on me to explain why I was on the box. I simply nodded my head and looked back to Brianna, who stirred in my arms. I watched as her little eyes fluttered open showing her brown eyes.
