I woke up freezing. I looked at the end of the bed to see all the blankets wadded up. I sighed and got up. I showered and got dressed then left for the Curtis'. I walked in to see everyone was already there. I might of had a little crush on Ponyboy though. Okay okay maybe it wasn't little. But I kept it under control I guess.
"Hey Destiny." Everyone said.
"Hey Tiny!" Two Bit yelled.
I rolled my eyes and took a bite of his cake. He fake glared at me and I replied with the same gesture. He left saying he had somewhere to be, but put the cake out of my reach.
"Hey Destiny, can I ask you something?" Darry asked.
"Sure."
We both walked into the kitchen for privacy but we both knew the gang could eavesdrop at any time.
"I really like you, and I know we're six years apart, but will you-"
But he was cut off in mid sentence. Soda and dally pushed their way in shocking the both of us.
"Uh uh Darry. I was gonna ask her out! Besides I'm closer to her age so it makes more sense."
"Well I was gonna ask her out to. Which means both of you can't have her."
I watched in shock at the three fighting over me. No one would notice if I left the room so I did. Pony looked up at me from the couch smiling.
"Having fun in there?"
"Nope." He laughed.
I sat down next to him. I rested my head on his shoulder and he put his arm over my shoulder. I smiled even though it meant nothing.
"Would it be crazy if I asked you out?"
He whispered in me ear. I couldn't reply fast enough since the angry threesome was back.
"Destiny, who do you chose?"
I looked at the three of them. I hated doing this to them but at the same time I feel like I've been waiting for this moment for years.
"Ponyboy."
I swear their jaws dropped to the floor. I turned and saw pony smiling at me.
"Why'd you chose me?"
"Lots of reasons. Plus you were nice enough to ask me instead of yell at everyone else."
Now you looked at the three in front of you. Soda and Darry turned red while dally was looking at the floor. Steve started laughing so hard I thought his head would fall off. They all glared at him which shut him up fast.
Dally left and Soda and Darry started getting ready for work. The two of them looked pretty upset about being turned down but I knew they would never admit to it. Once them and Steve left Pony grabbed my hand and whispered in my ear,
"What are some of the reasons?"
I rolled my eyes and kissed him on the nose. He smirked and kissed me on the lips. It came as a shock at first but I kissed back. When he broke away we stared goofily at each other. I laid my head on his shoulder and snuggled up next to him. He put his arm around my shoulder protectively, and I knew I had made the right decision.
