Rose POV
When we left, some socs started looking at us all funny. Two-Bit, Pony, and Johnny all tensed up. I looked at Evie to see if she knew what it was about but she didn't seem to know either.
"Come on."My bro growled. He never growls. Ever.
Ponyboy stepped over to me and started talking nonsense. I wasn't listening at all.
"and then he-" he tried to say, but I cut him off.
"Sorry Pony, but what went down with those socs back there?" I blurted. I should feel bad for interrupting him but I really want to know, and I have a feeling it has something to do with me.
"What do you mean?"
"You know what I mean. Some socs were walking by just now and you, Two-Bit, and Johnny all sorta acting funny. You got more talkative, Johnny got a little tense, and Two growled. He never growls. What happened?" I asked, frustrated that he was trying to play dumb.
"Oh, they jumped someone-"
"Who?"
"I-"
"Who?" I'm starting to get really frustrated with this boy.
He sighed and looked at my brother, then back at me.
"You."
"Oh." Why were they there? Something about this didn't feel right. Evie must of noticed because she grabbed my hand and smiled at me. Her smile can light up your day, and boy did it ever.
"Hey, when we get back, let's make some vanilla cake but with chocolate frosting and dye to mess with the guys." She whispered. I smiled back at her and nodded.
"What are you guys doing?" Two asked.
"Nothing!" We both said at the same time we both grinned at each other.
"Don't say it!" Two-Bit pleaded.
"TELEPATHY!" We both yelled laughing.
"You guys don't make any sense." Pony said.
"Well neither does Two Bit but you still hang out with him!" Evie replied.
"Hey look! Johnny smiled! We got him to smile!" We got him to smile!!! Everyone turned to look at Johnny, making his cheeks get a little rosy.
"What do you know! We did!" Two Bit yelled.
"Jeez Two, I'm just as happy as you are but do you have to scream right in my ear?" Pony complained.
"Yah, I do!" He yelled back at Pony. Pony rolled his eyes in response.
"We're here!"
Finally! Evie helped me out since I'm still sore (thanks a lot Two) then we went into the kitchen to make "chocolate" cake.

Ponyboy POV
Two-Bit turned on Mickey and zoned out the rest of the world. Johnny even threw his shoe at him and he didn't notice. He looked at me and I grinned at him then watched Mickey with Two. Slowly, my attention turned to the kitchen. I stared at the door, thinking about Rose. How her brown eyes can dance and how her smile lights up the room...
"Hey Pony!" Two yelled at me.
"What?"
"I've called your name five times. What's up? You alright? You better be or else Darry'll kill me."
"Nah I'm fine."
He didn't look convinced in the slightest. I looked away and looked back at the kitchen.
"Why do you keep looking at the kitchen?"
"I'm not looking at the kitchen."
"Then what are you looking at?"
"The wall."
"Smart-Alec." Then, it hit him.
"Are you thinking of someone in the kitchen?" He asked with a grin. I felt my face get red.
"No."
"Then why are you blushing?"
"I'm not blushing."
"Your blushing."
"Why would I be blushing?"
"That's what I want to know!" Then out of no where he jumped on me.
"I know why you keep looking at the kitchen!" He exclaimed with wide eyes.
"I'm just looking at the door! What's the big deal?!?" I asked. Alarmed that he might know what I was thinking about.
"Your thinking about Rose!"
"What?"
"Oh, don't play dumb. I see how you look at her!"
"I don't know what your talking about."
"I said DON'T play dumb. Really Pony, you have more common sense than this." He has such an annoyingly snarky tone. "You can ask her out if you want. Just no serious stuff."
He pointed at me then himself with two fingers to make his point. He really just look stupid though. Johnny seemed thoroughly amused with the whole situation. He knew that I liked Rose, I told him one night at the lot.
"Johnny, did you tell Two-Bit?"
He shook his head. It almost looked like he was about to smile.
"You knew! Johnny, how could you not tell me!" Two-Bit tried to look shocked, failing miserably. Johnny shrugged in reply, smiling.
"Well, now that I know you might as well ask her out."
"What if she says no?"
"Well, it's possible she could hate you and it'll ruin your friendship and it'll be awkward whenever you guys see each other and everyone will tease you about it forever."
"Gee, thanks. I feel SO much better." I said with fake enthusiasm.
"Just go do it!"
"I'm going I'm going."
