I hope you like it! P.s. Everyone, you guys should check out her book. It's really good.

I sat on the couch of the Curtis house anxious. Everyone was gone at the rumble. Almost everyone, Johnny and Dallas were still in the hospital. I couldn't sit still I was so nervous. I knew Darry could take care of himself and was going to be fine but I still worried about him. I stepped on the porch and sat down on the swing so I'd see him come up. It was cold and I shuddered, rapping my arms around myself.

"Cold?" I heard a familiar voice ask. I saw Darry, Steve, Soda, and Two Bit walking towards me. I stood up and walked to the edge of the porch. I leaned against the pole and smiled at their excited faces. Especially Darry's. They got to the steps looking exhausted.

"We won Linds!"

"If this is what you guys look like after you win I'd hate to see what you'd look like if you'd lost.

"Those dummies don't stand a chance against us!" Steve yelled still hyped up.

"Where's Pony?"

"He went with Dallas." Two Bit answered.

"You should see them socs. They got the worst of it." Steve continued.

"I bet they did." Darry hugged my tightly and spun me around. He kissed me and I could feel his excitement buzzing off of him. I got a good look at him and felt sick to my stomach. He had teeth in his hand. Actually in his hand. Not holding it, IN his hand. He had a deep cut a little to the left of his chin. There were big bruises scattered on his arms and a few on his face. It looked like he was getting a nasty shimmer to top it office .

"You look terrible, come on."

I grabbed his hand, without the teeth, and dragged him inside. He sat down in his chair while I got the first aid kit. Everyone went into the kitchen to have celebratory cake. Their energy started to wear down. I sat on the floor next to him and grabbed his hand.

"Lindsey you don't have to, I'm fine."

"Yah, ok."

We sat in silence while I pulled out the teeth gently.

"I worry about you ya know."

"I'm always-ah-fine afterwords." He gasped when I poured rubbing alcohol on it.

"Yah, you've never been healthier. I know it's silly to worry, but I love you. Every time you get into a fight I worry about what could happen. I worry you about you because I love you." He put his hand under my chin and made me look at him.

"Lindsey, I love you to. And I fight so they know we aren't going to let them walk all over us just because they have money. I don't want them thinking it's ok to hurt you."

"Now your making me sound like the bad guy." I said blushing. I went back to his hand and kept talking.

"I mean Darry, your coming back with teeth lodged in your hands."

"Linds you don't have anything to worry about."

"I'm worried about losing you Darry. People die everyday and I don't want anything to happen to you, I'm not asking you to stop fighting-"

"Lindsey, is that what your worried about? Me getting killed?"

"Well, I know it's real unlikely but look at what happened to that soc, Bob. I'm not taking their side or anything but that could of been any one of y'all. All this fighting, it's, it's, it's just so childish and dumb!"

"Lindsey calm down. I'm not going to leave you guys anytime soon. I promise I'll be more careful, but you have to promise you won't get worried over stuff like this anymore."

I sat quietly for a little but nodded. "Okay." I took some gauze and started to wrap his hand.

"Sorry I freaked out."

"It's fine, I get it." He kissed my forehead and smiled at me.

"Wonder when Pony's coming back." He asked out loud.

"He'll be fine he's with Dally, it's not like he was alone or anything."

"Yah you're right. You did a good job on my hand." He noticed.

"I've helped you before but I've never seen something like this. I was kinda winging it honestly." I said sheepishly. He laughed, something about that was funny but I didn't know what."

"Well for a first time that was pretty good."

"Thank you." I felt proud of my work now.  Everyone came in looking exhausted.

"I thought that cake would cheer you guys up. Y'all look beat!" I said surprised.

"There wasn't none left. We don' wanna make any." Steve said fighting back a yawn.

"I thought you two were throwing a party afterwords?" I asked with a smirk. My arms were crossed and I was leaned up against the doorframe. Steve and Soda just shrugged.

"I have to say, I've never seen more depressed winners."

"We're just tired." Two Bit said stretching himself out on the couch.

I went in the kitchen and grabbed a beer. I walked up to Two Bit and dropped it on his stomach. Carefully, it was still glass but his eyes were closed so it still gave the same effect of surprise.

"Here, thought you could use one."

"Darry you got a smart girlfriend." Two Bit said popping off the lid. I walked over to him and sat on his lap.

"I sure did."

I wanted to make it a happy ending so I didn't put anything in about Johnny and Dally dying. It's a little shorter than my other imagines but not to much. Welcome to wattpad!
