Chapter 22.

Diana

How is this possible? How was I born as a decendent of the Moon Goddess? Me? Diana Everborn? Really? There has to be some sort of mistake.

"I-I I don't know, how, why or what this means?" I said, compelety and utterly confused.

"Wait, I've read about this before.." Caine reads? Since when?

"Yes Diana, I read. I've taken quite an interest in reading actually."

"Shit, did I say that aloud?" I asked.

"Yes baby, you did." He chuckled, I felt my cheeks heat up.. because, well I don't even know why.

"Moving on, what do you know about this Moon Goddess Decendent thing?" Cole asked impatiently.

"Diana do you have a birth mark that looks like a half moon?" Caine asked, after he growled at Cole.

A birth mark shaped in form of a half moon.. "I don't know, I've never seen it, at least I think I haven't." It's probably somewhere I can't see.

"Turn around." Caine instructed both Cole and I. We didn't question it.

I felt Caine's hand move my t-shirt away from my shoulder. "Found it." He said. "Cole don't look."

"Caine, it's just a shoulder, relax." I said, turning around to face him. "Cole, you can turn around."

Caine growled, but obliged and made his way back to his desk. "Is there anything you can tell us about the Moond Goddess's Decendent?" Cole asked.

"Well, based of off what I've read. Every century 7 werewolves are born, these 7 wolves are the Mood Goddess's decendents. They don't realise it, but they're purpose is to be the Moon Goddess's eyes. A part of the Moon Goddess is put into each indivudual decendent. You receieve a trait that the Moon Goddess has. If the 7 wolves ever meet, their powers - which are currently dormant - awake. Each one of you have a different power. It is also believed that these 7 wolves are chosen for a greater purpose. Every centuary a war breaks out, and it's the decendents job to unit the entire werewolf community to fight it. If they fail, the decendents die, and the packs wait for the next 7 decendents to be born to refight the war that has never been won by the werewolves. Oh did I mention that the fight is between.. well us and the witches." Caine finished. Well shit.

"Why the witches?" Cole asked.

"Over 100,000 years ago, the werewolf king made a grave mistake to double cross a witch. The witch was fuming, so not only did she curse the royal family, but she cursed the entire werewolf community. The witches are just too powerful for us I suppose."

"So let me just confirm.. I'm a decendent of the Moon Goddess?" I asked flabbergasted.

"Yes, I can confirm that."

"How did you gain an interest in this Caine?" Cole asked.

"Well, that would be because I found the half moon mark on me when I was 12."

"Wait, you're also a decendent?" I asked, both excited and nervous.

"Yes Di." She chuckled. "You look so cute when you're surpised."

"That's so cool!" I said running to him and hugging him from behind. Wrapping my arms around his shoulders.

"So two of you are here, that means you just need to find the other 5. Sounds easy enough." Cole said.

"Cole, werewolves live all over the world, they could be ANYWHERE." I said emphasising the ' anywhere'.

"Ok, hold up. One problem at a time. First we prove to David and Daniel that you didn't have a choice. After that we can travel around to find the other 5 wolves. It's said that the decendents have a special bond, where they can basically sense each other if their intentions are pure." Caine said.

"Caine's right, let's take this step by step and one at a time." Cole agreed.

"So then back to my original question. Well actually, I'm just going to state that I'm coming with you guys in case anything goes wrong." I stated.

Caine sighed, but gave in anyway. "Fine, but I will allocate a gaurd to be with you the entire time."

"Deal. Yay, thank you!" I said pecking him all over his cheek.

"You're kidding Caine. No way, she can't come. She'll get herself killed." Cole protested, jumping out of the seat.

"She'll have a guard." Caine said.

"No, that's not enough. What if it's her and the gaurd take on like 10 other wolves. It won't be safe." He persisted further.

"Cole, I'll be fine."

"Di, you don't know that. Caine, she'll get herself killed goddamn it." Cole was now fuming, his tone had changed and power was radiating of off him.

"I am the alpha, do not speak to me like that. You're out of line." Caine said standing up and slamming his hands on the desk. "She is also my mate." He added, emphasising 'my'.

"Don't fucking forget that I am older than you, I have the same goddamn alpha blood in me. I risked everything to save your life. I gave myself up to one of the strongest packs for your freedom. So don't you dare tell me that I'm out of line. Diana was also my baby sister for a long fucking time. She may be your mate now, but I don't give a shit because she's still my baby sister to me. If you send her out there and she dies, I will make sure that you suffer, you will live the rest of your goddamn life and hurt everyday until you die a painful death because of the loss of her. Mark my words Caine, I will not let you die if she dies." And with that, Cole stormed out of Caine's office and slammed the door shut on his way out.

I hate to admit it, but Cole has a point. It's my fault that I put Caine in that situation, I shouldn't have persisted so much. Cole's right, and the very last thing I want is for Caine and Cole to hate each other, after they only just reconneted with one another.

I have to make this right.
