Diana
I hate that my mother was so persistent, because I definitely got that trait from her. Although, she did love that about me.
Regardless, it's my fault that there's such a divide between Caine and Cole now. I insisted too much, Caine was merely trying to make me happy and Cole was purely looking out for me. I came between the two of them, and it was wrong. How on earth do I fix this though?
There must be something I can do, anything. Fuck, nope. I can't think on an empty stomach. I strode into the kitchen to get myself some boysenberry ice-cream. I mean, because it's clearly the best flavour.
"Luna!" I knew that voice very well now. I turned around and saw a very happy James.
"James!" I exclaimed, placing my spoon into the tub of ice cream and opening my arms wide for James to run into.
"Oh ice-cream! If I have some, will you tell me mummy?" James asked, his eyes very hopeful.
"I won't tell mummy, but you will little buddy. You just have to be honest with her, and I'm sure she'll understand." I smiled as I got a spoon out of the drawer and handed in it to James. I placed him on the kitchen counter, and we both dug in.
"It's been really lone since I've had ice-cream Luna. Thank you so much!" James spoke with a mouthful of ice-cream. I couldn't help but chuckle at this cuteness, oh I can't wait to have kids of my own someday.
"Of course! Spoiling you cute little ones is what I'm here for. Well, partly." I smiled as I put a spoonful of ice-cream in my mouth.
"James! I found you!" A little girl with beautiful blonde her and the must captivating blue eyes screamed as she ran into the chicken.
James's cheeks turned a light shade pf pink. "Aw, does this mean I have to seek now?" He asked the girl.
"Yes, it does. But first I have to find the others."
"I'll help. Luna, will you play hide and seek with us?" James asked hopeful, once again.
"Sure, why not. But first." I knelt down in front of the little girl after taking James of off the counter. "What's your name pretty lady?"
"I'm Jade." She smiled and blushed.
I felt James's little hands cupping my right ear as he whispered "Jade's going to be my wife one day. I just know it." Oh. my heart! I was in such awe. You know, for a 5 five year old, he sure knew a lot.
"James, don't whisper. It's not nice." Jade said, clearly not looking too impressed.
"Sorry Jade, I promise I was telling Luna a really top secret thing. It was a nice secret too." He said looking down at his feet.
"It's ok. You don't have to share it with me." She said also looking down at her feet.
"Don't worry Jade, I promise that you will find out one day. And I hope that you'll be happy with it." He smiled sheepishly.
"Well, ok. If you say so." She smiled back, her cheeks turning pink. "Can we continue the game now?"
"Absolutely! How many kids are left to find?" I questioned excitedly.
"Um.. I think there's 6 kids. So, let's go!" Jade grabbed James's hand and pulled him hurriedly out the kitchen. I quickly put away the ice-cream tub and spoons and found James and Jade.
The pack house had a massive playroom for the kids. It's literally massive. It could be it's own house. No exaggeration. It was easy to establish that the entirety of kids had hid in the playroom, or house.. It was just a matter of locating them.
'"Ok, here's the plan gang. James and Jade you look near the ball pits and slides, I'll look near the board games and the arcades."
"Let's go!" James exclaimed before running off.
....
What a day. My legs feel like literally jelly.
From the entire Moon Goddess Descendent to coming between Caine and Cole, to flipping playing 3 hours worth of Hide and Seek with the kids. To make matters, inconvenient.. I didn't even think of how to unite Caine and Cole again, and how to fix the mistake I made.
I slipped into an oversized t-shirt and shorts and jumped onto the bed. My back against the bed, and my concentration devoted solely to the plain white ceiling.
What can I do? Think Diana, think!
"Maybe I should apologise to the both of them and agree to stay back at the pack house. This way Cole will be ok with it, and Caine won't have to worry about me being 100% content, because it'll be my choice to stay back." I muttered to myself.
"Talking to yourself now?" Caine asked, leaning against the door frame.
"Unfortunately, you see; it's my last resort. I made the my favourite person in the entire world fight with his own brother, merely for my happiness. Made my best friend feel so goddamn uncomfortable around his own brother. I've just reached an all time low." I replied, almost humorously.. Unintentionally of course.
Caine made his way to me and laid himself on the bed, turning to his side to face me. "I hate that the love of my life feels like this is her fault. We're brothers - it feels weird saying that.. That's besides the point, we're.. brothers, we're bound to fight. Especially if it concerns you. But we'll always work it out. I love you, and Cole and I just have your bets interest at heart. We just want what's best for you, even if we disagree, we'll figure it out." He said, as he brought his lips to mine.
"I second that Caine." Cole yelled, walking past our room. "But no hanky panky yet." He added, only showing his face through the door.
Cole began to walk away, as Caine yelled "Close the door!"
"Get up, and close it yourself." Cole yelled back.
"Asshole." Caine muttered under his breath.
Well, that worked.. well-ish.
