Chapter 6

Drama

I knew Tyler was everyone’s dream. He was my dream come true. He was so sexy, he was perfect, and his attitude was so handsome. But something was up. His eyes keep changing color, and he’s talking about ‘someone’s out to get me.’ It’s all bullshit, and I think he is trying to bullshit me. But I didn’t really care.

I was walking to my art class, when I ran into Jenna, walking with some boy, “Jenna, who’s that?” I asked. She replied, “Oh, my boyfriend. His name is Denny Clark. Anyway, have you seen Lola? I want to rub it in her face that I got a boyfriend… or should I say, a date to the dance in 2 days.”

My mouth dropped… a dance? I asked, “A dance? What dance? I never heard anything about a dance…” She smiled and replied, “Were you listening to the announcements this morning? They only put things on the announcements if it’s important. The dance is some, back to school dance. But it’s only the grade 11’s and 12’s.”

I was shocked. I recited, “So wait, do we wear our casual clothes? Or a dress and heels?” She answered, “Dress.” I asked, “So like prom?” She mumbled, “Not necessarily, but there are a couple of slow dances.” I gasped. I ran into Art class, because I saw Tyler coming my way.

I didn’t know who I was going to dance with. I want to dance with Tyler, but almost all of the girls in this high school like him, so what chance do I have? He doesn’t even like me… anyway. I pouted, and walked to an empty seat. Jenna and Lola walked in. Jenna’s boyfriend came behind them. He was actually pretty cute. I could dance with him. But he’s taken.

I frowned and looked around the room. There has to be other guys… right? I glanced at the boy sitting behind me. He was gross. I glanced at the boy sitting beside me. He was absolutely amazing. He had blonde hair, with brown eyes. I stared at him, and he looked at me. He seemed to like me.

He started, “Hey, what’s your name?” I blushed and replied, “Carissa, how about you?” He answered, “Tate, so what did you do this summer?” I glanced at the floor, thinking of what I should tell him. I spoke up, “Packed… I moved from Waterloo to here. My mom and I moved away from my dad.”

He nodded and replied, “Did they divorce?” I nodded, and rubbed my eye, because it was itchy. He mumbled, “Oh, I’m sorry. That’s too bad.” I nodded and wanted to end the small talk, so I started up another conversation. “So, who are you going to the dance with?” He smiled and replied, “My girlfriend, Frankie.” I pouted and replied, “Oh, okay. Well class is starting now.” He didn’t say anything. I think he noticed that I was only talking to him because I needed a date to the dance.

After Art, it was home time. Thank heavens! The teacher, Mrs. Plot, started the lesson. Our assignment was to construct a sculpture, out of either paper Mache, or clay. I was going to do mine out of clay, because the other day I saw some clay at the dollar store for only 2 bucks. I will make a sculpture, of a very sexy boy. That boy’s name is Tyler Hunter. That name just makes me have butterflies.

I snapped out of it, and continued listening to the lesson. Out of the blue, Lola comes up to me and asks, “Why did you call me a bitch?” I scowled and replied, “I never called you a bitch… who told you that?” She answered, scowling back at me, “Jenna.” I rolled my eyes, and replied, “Well, Jenna is full of bullshit because I never said dick about you. I just met you, and you guys are my only friends. Why would I call you a bitch?”

She scowled and replied, “No, Jenna would never lie like that. I think you just can’t handle telling the truth. Now I guess your back down to being friendless… again.” She walked away, to go through out something.

Everyone was working on their sculptures. I ran up to Lola, and told her, “Wait, you’re actually going to believe that bitch?” Lola nodded and glanced at me, mad of calling her best friend a bitch. I rolled my eyes and said out loud, “Oh my God Lola, why are you going to believe her? She was a bitch from the minute I met her! I liked you better, but now I’m starting to hate the both of you…” Lola rolled her eyes and replied, “You know what? Fine, go ahead, hate on me. But I don’t give a shit, because we are in grade 12, not grade 5!”

I rolled my eyes and put my hair behind my ear. “Well, you’re the one who came up to me first!” She squinted her eyes and left the garbage can. I walked up to Jenna. I glared at her, and said, “Why you saying that I called Lola a bitch, because I never said anything about her.”

Jenna looked at me and replied, “Yes, you did. Remember, when I was with my boyfriend, and we were talking about the dance?” I groaned and said out loud, “No I didn’t! Why are you starting drama?” She ignored me and I told her, in a low voice, “You know what? I knew you were a bitch from the start. Don’t talk to me.”

The bell rang, and I ran up to my locker. Guess who was there? Tyler. I smiled and walked slowly up to my locker. I said, “You really like me, don’t you?” He laughed and nodded his head. I got butterflies in my stomach. “Well, did you know that there was a dance… in 2 days?” He smiled and replied, “Yes, yes I did.” I giggled and opened my lock.

I looked at him, our bodies touching, and I asked, “Who you going to slow dance with?” He smiled and replied, “I have someone in mind.” I laughed and replied, “Oh really? And who might that be?” He just stared at me. “Stop doing that creepy stare. It scares me.” He laughed and I told him, “You laugh and smile a lot.” He laughed again.

I said, “Exactly.” He laughed. I rolled my eyes, and he gulped all the saliva that was forming in his mouth. I heard the gulp, and he replied, “You make me laugh.” I didn’t say anything. I asked, “Don’t you have to get your bag, and whatever else?” He smiled and pointed at the floor.

His bag was beside him. I smirked and looked down at the necklace he gave me. I took it off, and put it on his neck. I told him, “Tyler, this necklace belongs to you. We barely know each other. So just take it, we can still be friends.” He grabbed my body and our noses were touching. “But I want to be more than friends.” He smirked.

I smiled, but pulled away. He was going way to fast with this relationship thing. I told him, “Tyler, listen. I’m flattered, but you’re going way to fast with this. I think it’s better if we just be friends.” He sighed and replied, “Well, if that’s the way you feel, I guess you’ll be dancing alone at the dance.” I stared at him. “How do you know no one’s going to ask me?” I snapped back.

He raised his arms up, doing that ‘don’t have anything against me’ expression. I rolled my eyes and replied, “You know, you call me beautiful and sexy, and then you just insult me that I can’t get a guy. What a nice day I had today. First 2 bitches, now this.”

He grabbed my arm, and replied, “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean it like that!” I groaned and yelled, “STOP GRABBING ME!” Then I ran out of the school, looking for my mom’s Honda Civic.

:O Jenna and Lola are not who they were in the washroom! Jenna's starting drama... :/

What will happen in the next chapter? :)
