Chapter 36
Eager
My mouth dropped. I shouted, “What?! She’s across the hall?! Why what happened?!”
The nurse recited, “Well, she fell off of the palace. She sprained her wrist and her ankle, and she several cuts all over her body. She has a huge gash at the back of her head, but it’s alright now, because I stitched it up."
She continued, "She’ll be out of here in a couple of days, the most a week. We just need to clean and bandage her wounds, and wrap her wrist and ankle.”
This was all bad news for me, but I was very eager to chuck myself off of this hospital bed, and run down to Carissa’s room.
I choked out, “Oh, well, when will I be able to get out of here?”
The nurse frowned and mumbled, “Not anytime soon, not until we find your blood type, which will be hard, since you’re a vampire.”
I nodded my head, and annoyingly asked again, “Well is there a range? Like a week, a couple of days, two weeks…?”
The nurse widened her eyes annoyingly and spat, “I told you, until we can find your blood type, then you will be able to get out of here.”
I frowned, and mumbled, “Okay, well, can you do me a favor?” I asked, my head hung low, my eyes glued to the marble floor.
She muttered, “What?”
I blurted, “Can you say happy birthday to my sweet-pie?”
She nodded her head, and told me, “I will, don’t worry.” And she took off.
Carissa’s P.O.V:
Nothing really hurt except for my ankles and wrists. My cuts we minor and the gash in my head was closed. Everything was okay now, but not perfect.
I couldn’t go home, and lie down in my comfortable bed, my mom constantly asking me if I’m hungry.
I want to be a toddler again, having no worries in life except for sharing my toys, and when it was lunch time.
But most importantly, I wanted to be in Tyler’s arms, his lips against my forehead, us watching a movie, or drinking greasy pop together.
The nurse came in, the vampire one, and blurted out, a smile on her face, “Tyler says happy birthday.”
My face brightened. “Oh Lord! Tell him thank you, and I miss him too much. Tell him, that, I love him.”
The nurse smiled sheepishly, and groaned, “I am not the messenger here, but next time I come across his room, I’ll make sure to tell him.”
I smiled, and nodded my weak head.
The nurse whispered, “Okay, do you need anything else?”
I blurted, “Yeah water.”
She nodded her head, and whispered, “Okay, I’ll be back.”
I nodded my head, and closed my eyes. I wanted to fall asleep, but I couldn’t, knowing the love of my life was in the room across the hall, waiting for me to come.
I wanted to go, but I can’t when I have all of these wires attached to me.
I finally fell asleep, but got woken up by the pounding of rain on the window.
