Chapter 42

I ran back to the man who was having a bonfire. “Excuse me do you know where the entrance to the forest is?” I asked politely.

The man looked up, and grumbled, “Yes, go straight and when you come across the trail, go right.”

I nodded my head, trying to remember the directions. “Alright, thank you. You’ve been a great help.”

He smiled, and returned to his fire. I ran through the forestry jungle. Yes, this forest looked like a jungle.

It had vines, and small and tall trees EVERYWHERE. I made my way through the vines and branches that hung loose, and after a few minutes, I found the trail.

I turned right, and ran as fast as I could down the trail. I entered a dark part of the forest, when I heard a wolf howl.

I shuttered; a cold chill ran down my boney spine. I kept on going, no matter how tired I was, no matter how out-of-breath I was, I just kept on running.

I had to get to Mitchel. I will get to Mitchel. I ran, and about five minutes later, I arrived at the entrance of the forest.

I crouched down, holding my rib-cage, huffing and puffing. A huge cramp haunted me, right where my rib-cage is… a side-cramp.

I shielded my eyes, and saw Mitchel’s car pull up. He rolled down the window, and yelled, “Get in!”

I didn’t hesitate. I jogged up to the car, and got in. “You alright?” He asked.

I said, “Yeah,” I took a pause, inhaling the rest of the air that had to get puffed out, “I’ll be fine.”

He chewed on his lip, “Well, as soon as we step into my house, you’re booking your flight.” He demanded.

“Alright, alright, I will, I will. Drive for Christ sake!” I roared.

He flinched and quickly turned on the transmission. He zoomed down the lonely, gloomy road.

. . .

We arrived at Mitchel’s house, and I chucked myself out of the car. I ran inside, and raced to the couch.

I flopped on top of it, and held my chest. “Oh, oh God dammit,” I puffed.

I cursed under my breath, and saw Mitchel handing me his laptop. “Here, it’s already on the website. Just book the flight.”

I face-palmed myself, and growled, “Mitchel, we’re so fucking stupid. We need a fucking credit card to book online!” I spat.

He bit his lip, and mumbled, “Hmmm, yeah that’s right. Here, give me the money, and I’ll just pay with my credit card.”

I nodded, and handed him the $1000 dollars cash. He got his credit card, and we filled out all of the information.

When we pressed ‘confirm booking’, I prayed that there was still room left. Luckily, there was. I high-fived Mitchel, and then embraced him.

“Thanks, Mitch. You’ve done so much for me the last couple of days. You don’t know how thankful I am. Thank you.” I said with a smile.

I pecked his lips, just to make him happy, and told him, “Tyler and me got back together…”
