Chp 13: He's confused.

Riannes's pov:

Marie and I went into the bathroom so we could have some privacy. As I closed the door, she just started bawling. This had to do with Jack. I walked to her and gave her a hug. Her tears made my shirt damp, but I didn't care. I was here for her. Hopefully this wasn't about me.

"What's going on?" I asked pulling back.

"It's about Jack. I'm not mad at you. I swear. But I just have this feeling he is getting feelings for you again."

I didn't know why she'd think that. Jack had been showing me know attention at all. He hadn't even really talked to me at all. I thought everything was beginning to be okay again. I was so happy with Taylor and I didn't want Jack to even be a part of the relationship. He and Marie were actually really cute and happy.

"Why do you think that?"

"He's always looking at your Instagram and twitter. I've caught him just smiling at a lot of your pictures. He doesn't talk to me the same. Everything is just so confusing." She was beginning to calm down.

"Over time, I've learned that Jack is a very confusing boy. I'm so sorry that you feel that way."

"I know. If you like him, I understand. He really is a great boy if you get to know him. He may seem like a jerk at times, but you had him first. I shouldn't have him."

"No, No, No Marie. I'm a bit confused myself. I'm so sorry. You and Jack were adorable together. You shouldn't give him up for me if you still like him."

"The thing is...I don't know if I like him. I don't want to cause trouble."

"You won't Marie. I swear."

Marie hugged me for the longest time and when we let go, I looked at her. Her mascara was all under her eyes along with her eyeliner. Her hair was messed up. I helped her fix her hair and makeup. It changed her mood a little bit, but not completely.

I was still a bit stunned that Jack was having feelings for me. I stayed by Taylor for most of the time just so I could make it clear to Jack I didn't want him. Or at least I was pretty sure I didn't. I kept catching him looking at me from time to time. Luckily, Taylor didn't seem to notice. I figured that I wouldn't tell Taylor anything unless Jack tried to do something...like kiss me.

Marie was cheering up a bit. I felt bad for her, but I knew that things would turn out for the best. I just prayed. Marie had tried to hug Jack, but he barely put his arms around her. He looked at me from behind her shoulder. He pursed his lips. I quickly looked away as we met eye contact.

*1 hour later*

Marie came up to me after we ate an early breakfast. She was emotionless, but that was better than seeing her upset.

"Jack broke up with me. He didn't say why though." She said.

"I'm so sorry," I said.

"Don't be sorry. Im not as upset as I thought I would be. It's less drama."

"You're right."

I still felt a bit bad about Jack liking me instead of Marie so that afternoon, I took her out for ice cream. It was just us. I ordered a double strawberry fudge ice cream and she ordered a tropical fruit ice cream. It was actually really nice, because we didn't mention boys once. She was right. It wasn't much drama. We talked about old memories and things we should do before the trip ended and how I'd miss everyone. Our conversation was full of laughs. It had been a while since Marie and I had a good time like this. For the past couple weeks, it was either silence or fights and right now, our friendship was perfect.

When we got home it was about 3:00. I went upstairs to just have some alone time. I had nothing to do really. I was excited to just chill out until someone walked in.
