Rianne's Pov:
After I was all cleaned up, I took a nice long look at me in the mirror. I had managed to take a careful shower without getting my leg wet where the stitches are. It was actually a lot harder than I thought. As I looked in the mirror, Kay brushed back my long brown hair. I was bruised a bit and had a few scrapes. My leg was an ugly greenish purple mixed color along the sides of my stitches. I had to remind myself that things could be a lot worse. I could be dead. From what I heard, Grant was severly burned and had a four inch laceration on his temple. The glass from the bottle almost hit his skull. I still couldn't believe I did that.
"Are you doing alright?" Kay asked.
"Yeah, this is still just so surprising." I said.
I looked over when I heard the door open. Taylor walked in and smiled. I gladly smiled back and walked away from Kayleigh since she finished brushing back my wet hair. Taylor picked me up in his arms bridal style and carried me over back over to my uncomfy hospital bed. He scooted me up in a position so I could finally manage to be comfortable. I thanked him and felt him lean down to give me a kiss. After happily kissing him back, he said something.
"Baby girl, we all got you some gifts,"
"Aw Taylor, you guys didnt h-"
I was interupted by all of my friends barging in the room yelling "SURPRISE!"
I wanted to jump up and down, but I really couldn't. They were all carrying stuffed animals, balloons, cards and a bunch of other stuff.
"Meee first!" Cameron yelled. I giggled and he sat by my side handing me a teddy bear. He stitched some red string on to the foot and leg because of our stitches. I took a selfie of us and the bear and thanked him.
"Thanks Cameron. I'm gonna name him Stitch!" I laughed. He gave me a hug. Bali came over next and handed me a collage poster of us from the time we were a lot younger. One picture was of us at our 8th grade dance. Another was of us playing laser tag and then there was one of us at a football game and we were in shorts, but we were freezing. At the bottom it had big golden letters saying "Get Well Püma Buddy!"
"Bali, I love it!"
After that, I was given the rest of my gifts. Nash gave me a long meaningful card. Jack gave me a bunch of sour patch kids, my favorite candy. Kay gave me a beaded bracelet that she made saying "Love you Ri<3". The last thing I got was a picture journal type thing from Marie. There were pictures of us at Worlds of Fun and at church camps. It brought back lots of memories.
Then of course, came Taylor's gift. He handed me a stuffed animal kitten with a pink bandana. Attatched to the kittens paw was a long note. It was really long what Taylor wrote, but really sweet.
Rianne,
Sometimes I don't even know how to explain how much I love you. I tell you how beautiful you are every day and every time, I mean it. But, theres something about you that keeps me alive. I don't know what I'd do without you. It kills me that I only have 19 days left with you. I wont give up on us though. I promise. We're gonna go farther in life and have a future. I can picture it all. I can picture getting married, having a family and growing old together. We're gonna get through this and all of our ups and downs. I love you, beautiful.
Love Taylor<3
By now, I realized I was crying. I couldn't believe that he wrote that. I put my head on his shoulder and kissed him.
"I love you too Taylor,"
The days were ticking. Nineteen days left. Then I'd be going back to Nebraska only with texting and facetime to be able to talk to Taylor. Why?
A nurse came in with a large cart. She seemed out of breath from rolling it in here I couldn't blame her. It was huge. All of us looked in amazement.
"Is this Rianne Oliver's room?" She asked.
"Yes,"
"These are for you," She said. I thanked her as I watched her leave the room. Taylor grabbed the cart and rolled it over closer to me. It was filled with fan letters...for me? Yes, for me. I gasped and took one out. They were from all over the world. People were supporting me. Me. These weren't hate notes. Wow.
I got through about fifteen letters and so did everyone else. We weren't even halfway through the pile and the woman brought in three more carts. This was incredible. I of course couldn't send thousands of individual thank you notes so I posted on twitter a picture of the notes and told them "I love all of you so much. Thanks so much for the support. It means the world to me.<3 I am starting to feel better. #prayforme".
"This is incredible" I said. Everyone nodded as we stared through the notes. Maybe I wasn't hated on as much anymore. Maybe for once, life was perfect. Thank you, God.(:
