Toby's POV~

To be honest, I can't remember how long it's been since I had started to have feelings for Emma. I can certainly remember the first time i ever saw her though...

~Flashback~

I sighed as i trudged through the deep snow on the ground. I was only eight and my older sister was walking with me. Suddenly we walked by a house and the snow seemed to be falling faster but yet softer. The air itself felt weird. Like the snow here wasn't normal. I looked up at the house. It was painted a pale shade of blue and it looked a bit run down. There was ice along the outside walls and some of the windows. Yet inside i could see warm light - probably from a fireplace- and it made me wonder who lived here, when suddenly I saw a young girl that looked to be about a year or two younger than me.

The girl had longish dark brown hair with gorgeous ice-blue eyes that were filled with wonder. She looked down at me and my body emitted a tic out of nervousness. She smiled at me and I smiled back. Then she put both of her hands against the glass and put her forehead against it as well. No sooner did she do that, then ice suddenly began to form where she had touched the glass. It didn't scare her though. She just kept smiling. I could tell that this was nothing new to her but it still shocked me.

Lyra looked down at me and asked in her kind voice, "What's wrong Toby?" I snapped out of it and muttered a nothing and pulled her to keep walking. As we walked away I saw the little girl frown and turned back to look at her. I smiled again and waved. She in turn also smiled and then waved to me as well.

Ever since then I would sneak off to her house and we would communicate with each other through the glass. On the inside she would freeze it a little and write something and for my reply, I would write something on paper that I would bring. I learned that her name was Emma. It went on like that for about a year and I was slowly beginning to develop a childhood crush on her. Then, one day she finally asked if I wanted to come in. Of course I said yes. Emma opened the door and I saw that inside the house was surprisingly neat. I had never heard her talk before but I always wondered what her voice sounded like. Probably something like an angel's.

For a moment we just smiled at each other and I started to blush because the only thing that Emma was wearing was a light blue tank top and jean shorts. I was still only nine but hey, there's nothing wrong with having a crush. When I started blushing she seemed confused and worried. "Hey Toby are you ok? You look like you have a fever and your face seems to be hot." I was right about her voice being angelic. It only made me blush harder and seeing as it was once again winter, Emma must have thought that I was coming down with a cold. She put her hand which was cold but also surprisingly warmer than I thought it would be. I twitched and accidentally knocked it away in the process. She just smiled though and didn't make fun of me like all of the other kids did. I also smiled I couldn't help it. Emma's smile was just so contagious.

We sat down and talked for awhile and I learned a lot about her. The only thing that I didn't know was that she had a brother. Oh how I wish I had. Years later I had started to become worse and when Lyra died in the car crash I stopped even going to see Emma at all. Finally when I became a proxy I hoped that I could go see her again but found out that she had moved. That was probably one of the worst days ever.

A few months later I was ordered by slenderman to go kill a male in his late teens named Jack. I went without hesitation and tracked him to an old house near the woods not too far from slender's woods.

It was cold inside the house to say the least. When I looked at the thermometer, it said that the house was only 40 degrees! Who keeps their house at 40 degrees?! Apparently this Jack guy does. I walked down the halls silently, being careful not to wake anyone up since it was like midnight. I snuck up the stairs and when I got all the way up, I noticed that it felt even colder. I could see my breath! I walked through the halls and found the bedrooms.

The first room appeared to be the master bedroom but it was untouched and empty. I closed the door and checked the next bedroom. Inside I could see a light layer of frost on the ground that grew slightly thicker closer to the bed. In the bed was what appeared to be a girl. I didn't pay much attention to her though and exited the room silently. She wasn't my target so I didn't have to kill her. I checked the last bedroom and sure enough there was the boy. From what I was told, he is extremely dangerous in a fight which was why Slender told me to kill him in his sleep.

Jack is a eighteen year old teenager who lives alone with his little sister. I don't know his sister's name though. Oh well, she's not the important one. I raised my hatchet to slice off his head but suddenly he opened his eyes and dodged it. He didn't scream like most of my victims did. Instead he glared at me and pulled out a dagger that looked like it was made of ice. He charged at me and plunged the dagger into my shoulder. I didn't scream in pain though. I couldn't even feel it.

Suddenly he pulled away and ran out the door. I followed him and saw him run into his sister's room. Probably he wants to warn her. Oh well, I guess that I'll have to kill her after all. I ran into the room after him and while his back was turned, I swung my hatchet and crushed his skull, killing him instantly. I heard a girl's scream and saw that it was his little sister. I looked at her but then froze. Almost like the ice that was now covering the room was inside my veins.

It was Emma. Her dark brown hair was slightly lighter and now the ends of it were light blue which made it look really cool. She had gotten much taller and was now almost the same hight as me. The only reason that I really knew that it was Emma was her eyes. Her gorgeous icy blue eyes. She suddenly glared at me and her eyes began to glow. The ice was getting thicker and was now also outside her room. The light blue in her hair was now her main hair color and it was blowing with the wind that suddenly came inside through her broken window.

She stood up and I ran out of the house. She jumped out of her window and caught me though. Without thinking I threw one of my hatchets at her and it struck her leg. She cried out in pain but then she levitated off the ground. Her eyes were now almost blindingly glowing and suddenly sharp blades of ice were forming around her. It looked like a mini blizzard that was centered around her. Then she pointed at me and everything that she had built up came flying at me and even though I couldn't feel it, I knew that I was very badly injured. Then, before Emma could finish me off, Slenderman teleported to my location and got me out of there.

~End of flashback~

I'm not quite sure but I think that Emma still doesn't know that I'm her old friend. Sure she know that my name is Ticci Toby but I don't think that she's made the connection. Now I'm too late and she has become a hunter. Some day soon I'll get her back, and I'll finally let her know who I am. Maybe then She'll forgive me, and if not, well there's always my backup plan. Hehehehe...
