James' P.O.V
How can she have such a spell on me? Why can't I control my feelings around her? The promises made to myself, why can't I keep them? What's going on? Why my mind isn't accepting what my heart is feeling? One wants me to stay away but another part wants me to rush to her arms. The happiness I feel when I'm around her can neither be compared nor felt in other ways. Anaya Khan gave a whole new meaning to my dark life. When she accepted to be my girlfriend, I felt like being the happiest person ever. More than that, the way she behaved in the hospital when she was injured, all those words she said still revolve in my head like the lyric of an addictive song. And the way she solved that problem last time was even more wonderful, she saved my dream project but more than that, what she said after that made the fall harder for her.
The same night where she was in the hospital, was the night where I realized that she meant more to me than what I thought. On that night, I broke up with Summaiyah and ended that what could be said to be a relationship. I apologized to Anaya about that incident and expected her to never talk to me again as I didn't deserve her forgiveness. But, she forgave me, without thinking twice or asking for any explanations from my side, she did.
After both mum and dad passed away, I thought that I had lost everything and it was true at a certain point of time. Waking up from the coma after two weeks to the news of my deceased parents and my brother who hates me was far from being easy.
My life had become a living hell after that. I always wanted to run away but I knew that I was trapped in this life, one of a C.E.O. I even thought of the taste of happiness as cherished souvenir. But, since I met Anaya Khan, all this changed. A single candle which could light a dark life. That's what she is.
I stared at the sky full of stars and remembered how Anaya was looking at them. There was something magic in her eyes which twinkled even more than those stars. The more I got to know of her, the more I admired her. Her life didn't look like being an easy one but despite that, she never complained and instead showed strength more than that, she spreads happiness wherever she is. I know she's hiding something which looks like to be bothering her. Whatever it is, I'll find out.
"Bro! How come I got 40/50 for the internship? Those old chips gave me only that much." Andrew said making his sudden entry as he walked into the balcony and sat on the chaise lounge next to me.
"Good evening you too. You made jokes the whole time, they might have got bored of that." I explained remembering of all the complaints about his incessant lame jokes which Mr Marcus got bored of hearing.
"WHAT?!?!!?" He said loudly, being shocked. "They didn't like my jokes!? How come? I'm the funniest person ever."
"Well, they don't think so. They department which you had to work with was the payroll one and is one of the most important." I explained still fixing the sky.
"Duh, I'm just gonna drop the subject. You both always give me the moral speech! I only wanted some sympathy and to be offered a beer." He said shoving his hand up in his 'Drama-Queen' style. But something else attracted my attention.
"Both?" I asked confused.
"Yeah, Anaya too said the same thing but with a kick in the ass style. She told me to stop my complaining as well as my lame jokes. She even told me that I was a crybaby!" He explained
"Well, maybe because you are one." I replied smirking.
"You are my brother, damn it! You should be the one saying that I'm not a crybaby!" He said in his still dramatic style.
"I'm your brother, that's why I should bring you back to reality." I said smirking.
"Okay, enough! I'm done with all these verbal slaps. I'm going to sleep. You stare at the sky, if you wish to." He said standing.
"At this time? Do you want me to ask Taylor to drive you?" I said as it was 22:00.
"I'm taking your guest room bro. Goodnight." He said as he chuckled and walked inside the living room.
I shook my head and looked at the sky. I can't help but to think of her. The simple fact of having the image of her smiling brings my lips up in a smile.

After half an hour, I walked to my room and drifted in a deep sleep.

The next day, I got ready for the meeting with Mark, an oil firm owner. Andrew had already left to God knows where. I walked to my Porsche and Taylor opened the door. I checked my phone several times and Anaya didn't reply to any of messages. She didn't even pick any call of mine. I wanted to got to her place and check if everything was alright but I didn't want to look like a psycho. She might just have been busy or might not have checked her mobile. They are currently on holidays, what might be keeping her so busy then.
The car finally stopped in front of the office and I was greeted by the working personal as usual. Maria informed me that Mark Hemfield along with his team were already waiting for me in the meeting room. Always earlier than me.
I walked into the meeting room and the formalities started.
"So Mr Rollins, I think we have come to conclusion." Mark said as we both stood from his seat followed by his team and extended his right hand.
"We do." I said, taking it.
