James P.O.V

At times, I wonder why life is so hard. Why my parents had to pass away? Why do I believe it's my fault? Sometimes, I wish I could go back in time just to save them. Maybe, if the were still here, my life wouldn't be that miserable. Andrew too wouldn't have changed from his old-self. Life would be much easier. Once my mother told me that every moment isn't everlasting, 'if happiness lasts for a few moments, so remember is misery too.' I still remember that.
I was brought out of my thoughts as the doctor walked out of Anaya's room. Both Andrew and I stood from our chairs.
"How's she?" I asked.
"She is fine. She was suffering from a flu and didn't rest properly nor had medicines. There's a slight sprain on her right wrist. Nothing to worry about." The doctor explained. I can't believe Anaya came to work despite her condition and like a duffer I didn't notice it. But still, a flu can't cause nasal bleeding, right?
"But why was her nose bleeding?" I questioned.
The doctor looked hesitant for a moment. "She had a panic attack." He finally said. I've heard that panic attacks happens due to fear and anxiety of stressful events. But what stressful event might have caused that. The fire at the hotel?
"What was the reason for her panic attack? Does it relates to past events in her life? You have met her before, right?" I enquired.
"I'm sorry sir. These are personal information and I don't have the right to tell you." He told me in a firm doctor tone. I badly wanted to tell him my identity and that I'm the owner of this freaking hospital but maybe it might be going against what Anaya would want.
"What's your name doctor?" I asked.
"Doctor Tyagi." He replied. "Anaya will wake up in about thirty minutes. You can go in if you wish to." He said and left.

"Bro, I think I'll leave. Anaya is alright and her stuffs are still at the office as well as her car." Andrew told me.
"Sure, Taylor will drive and I'll ask Raulf to take Anaya's car to her place." I said.
"Actually bro, I'll take Anaya's car back home myself. She has a dog and I will feed it too." He explained and I was stunned to hear that he decided to drive.
"You drive now? Impressive, since when did you overcome your fear?" I couldn't believe that he did it.
"Yeah. Recently." He said and smiled. It's been a while since my brother gave me a genuine smile.

After that, he left and I walked in Anaya's room.
She was lying on the hospital bed, the white sheet covered her legs and stopped on her stomach. There were machines next to her showing her heartbeat rate. I felt my heart twist. A sudden feeling of hugging her got onto me. I couldn't bare seeing her in that state. It was my weakness. She is my weakness. I sat on the stool next to the bed and looked at her. She looked pale, her long brown hair were on the pillow and her pinkish lips were slightly dry. A bandage was around her right wrist. A needle was inserted in the back of her other hand. I felt those particular spots of my hands sting too at that sight. It pained me so much. I took her small cold hand in my large one, trying my best not to hurt her. I looked at her angelic face and a smile immediately crept on mine.
"I only wish for this moment to last forever, me holding your hand. But, why do you keep pushing me away?" I asked as I brushed a strand of hair away from her face.
I stared at her intensely, she was the girl described as the talented dancer and hot looking girl but she's even more than that, she is the answer to silent prayers. I placed my head next to her hand and slowly closed my eyes, I didn't care about the place or the way I was sleeping, I knew that I would be having back pain but I wanted to be near her. I needed to be next to her.

Anaya's P.O.V
The familiar smell of medicines filled my nostrils. I opened my eyes and it was hurting. Where am I? God! My head is paining. I could feel the pain in my wrist. I tried to move it but it wouldn't budge. I turned my head and I saw James holding my hand while sleeping. He looked so cute and innocent. 'Come on, he's the reason for this state of yours.' My mind averted. I tried to remove my hand but he woke up.
"You are finally awake!" He said as he got hold of my hand. A smile formed on his lips.
"You could have left." I said harshly as I removed my hand from his grip. But I regretted doing it. A sudden feeling of pain flashed in his eyes and his smile was a gone memory.
He didn't have time to utter a word as Himanshu walked in.
"Nice having you back. How are you feeling?" He asked me. This scene felt like a Déjà vu. I still remember it like it was yesterday. The pain I felt as I woke up, I could bearly move. I had all these dressing and gauze all over my body. The doctors' worried look. I was like a piece of burned chicken. The doctors found it weird for me not to be dead. The pain which was felt three years ago is still present like a fresh wound.
"Are you okay?" Himanshu asked. Worry was clearly showed in his facial expression. Oh no! Not again!
"W..wh..ats that? I..ss it a b..ur....n?" I couldn't feel my voice. My heart rate started rising, it felt like being three years back.
"Anaya, calm down." I heard Himanshu say but I didn't pay attention to it. I was too scared. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath but failed as I felt a hot tear sliding on my right cheek. I felt someone holding my hand and kissing it. I looked down and saw no other than James doing so. This made me feel better, I felt safe. Our eyes met and stayed glued on each other. It was magic, like in fairy tales.
"Wow. I can see that there's someone else who can calm panic attacks better than I do. He stayed with you the whole time." Himanshu said. I regretted my previous actions. I placed my hand on his and squeezed it slightly. He looked at me and I gave him a smile. He placed his other hand over mine and smiled too.
This moment was picture perfect. James Rollins, thank you.
